    I don't care much provided they give us decent gameplay and job intricacies, which the job has utterly lacked since it butchering in ShB. It's bland and tedious to play. Where is my ammo and my procs? Why is queen a glorified dot that can't even into AoE? Why is flamethrower still useless after 2 expansions (will see in dt if they do something in the tooltip)? Why is everything just about pushing stupid long recast GCD buttons on cooldown while filling a gauge? Where is my big defining wildfire burst compiling all the damage I do inside of it?

    I feel the issue of MCH's not being impactful could be solved by having the option to revert back to HW era combos. The leveled ones look ridiculous and wholly unbelievable, the old ones are clean and very believable.

    The issue of a musket firing rockets however can be fixed with glamour, I run the oversized revolver Varis shot Emet with and it's way more fitting then a musket.

    I came in after HW, but the MCH jumps and acrobatics are kind of out there. It just comes off as silly and I understand just sitting there with a gun shooting is also kind of boring. They could have come up with different kind of gun animations, I suppose. Right now, I just kind of laugh at the absurdity.

    I mean... the more change into an engineer-esque role the better, it makes it far more likely we'll get a proper gun job in future, gunslinger or marksman...

    They used to mostly use their gun. It was boring, while Bard was very exciting. MCH was so unused that they reworked it to be more exciting, keeping its most exciting attacks but turning it into more of a literal "machine" job than a "gun" job.

    So the job was reworked into this. They aren't going to another rework to revert it back to a gun-centric job.

    For clarity sake. I’m not saying add more gunslinger elements to MCH. I’m saying give MCH a completely different weapon.
    The reason MCH was so boring when it was first introduced is because SE tried to be to different from the typical gun fantasy. When you think of ff characters that use a gun Vincent, Sazh, Barret, Yuna from 10x2, Prompto, or Merlwyb come to mind. Characters whose gameplay solely revolve around the gun and how they use it. Now we can double down on that concept and look at all the characters who use a gun in ff14 (ie…Hildi). Every last one is a marksman of some sort who rely on the gun, not gadgets. Even Limsa was founded by pirates who use guns.
    When you think about machines in ff magitek armor, deathclaw, predator, or any other machine enemies we fight come to mind. Yes a gun is a machine, but that logic is why SE killed the gun fantasy with MCH. They even tried to save the concept by adding flashy looking flips and nonsense that completely don’t fit with what you’re actually doing during battle.
    That’s why I brought up the backpack idea. Turn the lunchbox into a backpack. Idk…attach turrets to it or something cool. Add a iPad sized tomestone to control everything or a mini magitek that changes appearance when you switch weapons. Anything that fits a MCH using machines to do battle and give the gun to a job that properly fits the gun fantasy.

    would say lets keep the musket (too late to change by now) and get a proper gunslinger job with dual pistols (or a pirate one with blade and pistol). I quite love my mch toys and I always leaned more into the "I have tons of gadgets" than its gun part...in fact I would actually remove the gun for the flamethrower attack as with some guns it loooks really silly. and I wholeheartedly agree that something has to be done with the lunchbox, gives us 6 or 7 designs of them please.

    I don’t think it’s impossible since SMN happen it would be awkward for them since they have to remove the weapon and replace it and any animation it had but over not impossible

    for summoner they replaced the skills to make it feel more like a "summoner" than a dot mage that happens to have a pet. Replacing all weapons from level 30 to 100 feels like a very daunting job, and the class name is "machinist" so I dont feel the need for a change in its design as with summoner. because its focusing more and more on its machines (although I would surely love to have the queen be more engaging than just a "fire and forget" button)

    also we already have classes with repeating weapons (sch/smn) or very very similar ones(whm/blm) or same weapon different style (pld/drk/sam)(viper now) so having a class that uses a gun (just not a muskeet) doesn't sound weird to me... although for physical ranger dps I would surely get something else like javelins, or axes (throwing axes looks like fun) before getting another gun class
