After watching this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jEJFcE1j_Sg, my head is spinning. There is such a disconnect going on here.

The trailer portrays Pictomancer as a fun, whimsical job. I was looking forward it and was expecting something flashy and inline with the other jobs in terms of complexity and damage.

Yet, from the Live Letter, it appears I'll need the mental skill sufficient to defeat Grandmaster Ahmad Al-Khatib without looking at a chessboard in order to play the job.
If the job truly is as complicated described, Pictomancer will end up being the least played job in FFXIV.

In an expansion where Square Enix seems committed to simplifying jobs, to the point of adding the option for players to assign combos to a single button, why introduce such a complicated job? It makes no sense.
