    Their effects seem to be giving you various buffs that you need to maintain. It seems to be a job that looks busy and have a lot of choices to make but is actually completely deterninistic, in which case in practice you'll just do things in the "correct" order out of memory and habit.
    And that seems to match yoshi's own comment about how he was like "wtf is all this crap" when reading the design doc and how "it makes sense" when doing it in practice (i interpret "it makes sense" to mean "what you need to do next is obvious")

    I wrote a summary for those who prefer text that goes with it. Apologies if something is off somewhere, that's what I got from rewatching the PLL segments dedicated to it:

    - You have a main dual single blades filler made of 2 buttons. Depending of the ones you use in which order things light up differently and give you 3 different buffs of 30s each to juggle with (a bit like SAM with its different combos, just more intertwined). Once you finish a sequence of 3 you get a continuation proc that uses the double blade. The different types of sequences don't need you to necessarily keep yourself glued to the 3 buffs, they're also indicated by the blades on the gauge, not sure exactly how so far but their colours change.
    - You have a 40s recast GCD which uses the double blade: it leads to 2 buttons (left and right), and if you use the left button first, it gives you 2 continuation procs that use the single dual blades (1 proccing into 2). If you use the right button first, same but the continuation procs go the other way (2 into 1). Then you can proceed to the other side, so you can do left then right, or right then left. This also gives you a red gem on the gauge. 40s means you'll use 2 of those in the 120s bursts, and 1 in the odd minute burst.
    - Faster GCD on the single dual blade filler than on the double blade.
    - Red gems on the gauge (up to 3) are used for ranged attacks. A bit like for the double blade, you press it, then it goes into 2 continuation procs (just no left and right variants). A 120s ability also gives a free gem. This is more likely for mobility.
    - There is 2 non damage gap closers.
    - AoE skills are the exact mirror of the single target skills.
    - At 50 vial gauge it turns from red to blue and you can use the enshroud-like fast paced burst, you get 5 blue little orbs to spend, just follow the procs that light up... doesnt seem very hard. The filler sequences and the double blade 40s recasts fill the gauge when completed. The 120s ability giving a free gem also gives you a free burst without gauge cost.
    - I haven't seen party raid buffs but maybe there is.

    Some more minor abilities in the job trailer werent on the hotbar and showcased I think.

    Valence the only nit I'll pick is that the ranged combo is relatively high potency so it probably isn't just movement tech. First hit was 20k and the 2 ogcd's were 9k so 38k in one gcd while the generic combo looked to be averaging around 12k (was something like 9k > 12k > 17k). Since the free awakening button also gives a red pip, I'd bet we end up throwing out a ranged combo in the future opener.

    absolutely not surprised at all to learn that Viper's burst is literally Enshroud. whatever, at least the whole branching proc thing it has going on seems interesting enough.

    Wtf are the people allways mean with zero class identity? What have they in image to that?

    He is a Dual blade wielder, who played to much Dynastie warrior and watched to much Star Wars 1.
    What should he have more as a identity?
    He is more of the free Stil sword fighter, that i allways wanted, as i ever imaged (all ideas i had was allready covered by tanks).
    He is fast (maybe to fast for me), has good outfit and a nice qeapon. And the playstil looks even unique (ok, combis of concepts of other classes).
    I dont see anything wrong with him

    It was pretty interesting to see, looked like a job where you have a few buttons, those buttons give buffs which allow you to use abilities (100% proc style stuff) and then you can branch from there based on which buffs you've gotten.
    Didn't seem to me that there was a "123" style combo all combo attacks came from buffs.

    The ranged attack combo yoshida used seemed pretty strong, there's also another ranged attack that he didn't use but was shown in the job action trailer, I assume that's the spammable GCD one.

    I loved the speed and I personally don't see any missing identity, playstyle wise it gives me big dual wield jobs from other games vibes. I also loved that switching swords was just part of the main combo and didn't turn it into a slower job like a lot were expecting.

    They seem to have moved all of the buffs to this one job lol, which is pretty interesting and should at least give us somewhere to look at. The sword gauge seemed pretty cool, I expect it'll be similar to reaper in some ways but with much more interesting GCD's to hit between awaken phases. Which I'm super happy about, Reaper was almost perfect for me, but it didn't use a sword, didn't have a speed buff and was slow outside of shroud, and finally there was too many casts.

    Also I gotta say, I am absolutely ecstatic that viper has no casts. It's been so long since a melee was released that didn't have to stand still ! T_T
