I'm gonna keep being annoying with this: It also deletes your racial traits :T

That's not how I read scholar even at 90, and I feel that the game just completely forgot about that and it was all about the Fairy after level 60.
Which is why I said it's painted into a corner. Yoshi-P would have to reverse course and remove all the seraphim aesthetic entirely from the fairy and double-down instead on the "Pixie" aesthetic we saw in the first, but even then.... THAT is not in the source.
All this for a skill.
Yet that's now how people read it. They see it as "Fairy pet"
Most of the people I know who play the game just wanted to be a healer with "pet", which is fine. That being said I don't want the fairy to dissapear, the whole point of SCH is that the fairy heals and the SCH debuffs enemies and supports their troops. But of course as the "dps/utility" aspect of healers in general has been gutted in the past years, the only place to go with regards to design is the fairy.
I didn't become a SCH back in ARR because I wanted a pet fairy (Though the idea of tagging along a summon is neat). I wanted to play a cool military tactitian savant.
If Yoshi-P is intent on having every job have it's own identity, then he should have the bandage ripped off and fix the Arcanist baggage by reorienting Arcanist as a healer, so it evolves only into the scholar, and then move the Summoner to a "level 30" job you pick up straight from Y'mhitra, regardless of any class. Honestly it's a bit of a mess here too.
Then, rework everything about the scholar so that it stays "fairy" aesthetic without confusing it with "angel" seraph aesthetic that should be White Mage's aesthetic. After all, the Final Fantasy "White mage" was inspired directly from the D&D "Priest" class.
But this is FFXIV, and we kind of just accept some silly nonsense because Japanese Role Playing Games just "do that."
They take feedback from people who don't actually play the jobs so jobs end up being less intimidating and or more accessible to someone new.I love how they opened the jobs changes with "made adjustments based on feedback" and did their thing anyway. I guess it could be internal feedback, that would explain a lot actually...
I can't wait for the feedback on the forum to to absolutely nothing like always.
SCH's salt generator at full throttle, destination Ultima Thule ; let's enjoy EndSinger second comming.
The downside being the game becomes boring.
what about us dancers? i thought this was our thingI've said it before [flippantly] all healers are the accessory girlfriend job. Forget your own identity or even the job identity at large, every healer is a vacant same-faced placid girl in a dress. forever. This way none of you forget it. You'll sit there and look pretty in your dress and press your 1 button every 2 minutes and you'll like it, baby!
God did they actually?? I don't recall that at all. X_X
Surprise! Distinct visual characteristics of.. *checks notes* Balance issues and deafness! :^)
~sigh~
I like the idea but I want super fancy pixie wings and stay catgirl, please. Idgaf about angels, let me embrace fae shenanigans!

We were military tacticians in ARR. the fairy wasn't a pet then, it was a comrade, That's why we have to protect her.Literally miltary tactics, laws, magical writing, arcanima. There is arguably more of those in the SCH's kit since inception than fairy themes. I don't mind Fairy stuff as long as it stays in the corner, back when Eos and Selene were fairy shaped "constructs" that you imbued with life thanks to Arcanima. Remember Nym? Remember the war?
The conection to "fairies" of SCH is purely superficial. And I am tired of having this conversation every single expansion.

To have her history - the history of Nim - rewritten and her identity disregarded should not be allowed.
