Please make the Seraphism model swap optional

For the love of the Twelve, please make the model swap optional. It's antithetical to the job identity of SCH and actively clashes with the formal academic/military style depicted by the artifact gear, which some of us like to use. Omnihealers and white robe enjoyers might not mind as much, but they also have other class options to play to match that visual fantasy.

I'm not a fan of Reaper's Enshroud, either, but at least I knew it would be a core part of the class when I picked it up for the first time. Enshroud also resembles the kind of clothing you would expect to put a Reaper in to start with.

Toggles for both of these would be extremely welcome, but Seraphism most of all. The devs of other major MMOs learned this lesson long ago and gave players options to customize the visuals of certain skills. A change like this would be wonderful.

I honestly wouldn't mind the new SCH that much if it wasn't for the horrid design of the Seraphism skill. To have this military academic poison mage don white robes like a WHM and gain even more pretty angelic powers is so out of place it's almost like rubbing salt in the wound at this point.

+1. I'm actually so sad, when I saw it. It's not even a cool transformation, you just turn into a generic robe user with wings

I do wonder if it's just one model, or if it changes depending on race and gender.

While I disagree on the "job identity" part (the fairy stuff has been there since level 30,) it's certainly one of those things where players generally spend a lot of time customizing their model and don't want "optimal play" to require specific gear. I remember a part of a different MMO that predates XIV, that the "most powerful" transform that the player could have basically lasted a whole minute, and while transformed they could basically wipe the floor with most content. THAT I want to see avoided.

I agree that a soft-toggle (like visor up/down) would be fine in this case, and maybe substitute a "just the wings" version (since we know there are wings on two outfits and one apparel wings, we know they can do this.) "/glam seraphism none|wings|off"

Agreed. It's been my main job since leaving ARR, and this kills it for me.

it's really lackluster and kinda forces a vibe that I just don't really associate with my character or the job, it doesn't even feel or look fairy it reads angel. I'm also miffed at the skill cutting my tail and ears off like enshroud does

Honestly I'm glad there's at least one place where I agree with people on this. Reddit and Twitter, people are loving this. Despite how it normally feels, the forums are giving me hope for a change lol. Or at least company for my misery

SE is apparently wanting to drive people out of Scholar, into either WHM (class fantasy, due to the push into 'Whitemage Lite') or Sage, instead of giving Scholar an actual rework from grounds up that gets it in line with the class fantasy AND fixes the grievances with the kit.

Yes, yes, people are all apologetic and white knighting for the billion dollar company, 'It is absolutely overpowered, what are you on about?' - Yes, in a raid static that has their brains and heartbeats as good as synced up. The moment you enter an environment where you do not have people intentionally wipe when something is not going as it mathematically should, yeah, good luck.

It has such a generic look to it, too. It's like an appearance downgrade. If they want to add more enshroud-like transformations I think they need to make them look more visually interesting than just "robes".
