I like Deployment having dual purpose. First of all, Bane being exclusively an AOE function means any conflict of interest with spreading aldo basically doesn't exist anyway, at least no where in the game where it would ever actually matter, but also because I've been thinking of a way to redo the entire Aetherflow system into something more thematic. Picture this:
Aetherflow is now replaced with Chain Stratagem. Chain Stratagem now adopts Aetherflows effects and sits on a 40 second cooldown, giving you 3 Stratagems. These can be spent on the following...
Guerrilla Tactics: The new attack seen in the trailer; 30 potency AOE DOT over 12 seconds.
Deployment Tactics: On party members, spreads Galvanize or Excogitation; on enemies, spreads Bio and Miasma.
Emergency Tactics: Transforms Physick, Adloquium, and Succor into Protraction (Upgrade of Lustrate; heals single target with a potency of 600 & increases max HP by 10%), Excogitation, and the new AOE heal form the trailer, respectively. The new AOE heal is an upgrade of Indomitability in this case and additionally provides an effect that restores HP if Galvanize on the target breaks. All three of these enable one of two spells be cast: Curse and Shadow Flare.
Assuming Broil IV's potency stays at 295, Curse has a potency of 445 and turns ordinary enemies randomly into pigs, frogs, or imps. It is a partial refund of DPS with some flavorful utility attached for things like Deep Dungeons. Shadow Flare on the other hand has a potency of 310, but below the Stratagem gauge is a new Shadow Flare gauge. Every time you cast Bio, Miasma or Guerrilla Tactics, the Shadow Flare Gauge goes up by 5. Every point on the Shadow Flare Gauge increases the potency of Shadow Flare by 1% to a maximum of 100%, eventually turning it into a small DPS gain when casting one of these enhanced heals, being at least DPS neutral around 80 gauge.
This would be build on the notion that Scholar would have Bio III and Miasma III each with a duration of 12 and 24 seconds respectively.
Just my designer brain desperately wishing we'd get this identity job change expansion for DT rather than some future expansion maybe.
