Blacklist: How do I know if I'm blacklisted by someone else?

Basically title.

How do I know if I am being blacklisted by someone else when I send a message?

Will I get a system message in response stating something like: 'unable to send message'? Or something to that effect?

I tried searching this through google or reddit, but kept getting the same generic 'how to blacklist people' and couldn't find an answer to this question. I am well aware that a person no longer sees messages from people who is blacklisted, but how does the blacklisted person know their message won't be read?

They simply won't know for sure unless informed.

To the perspective of the blacklisted, it just seemed like they've been flat ignored.

You know you are blacklisted if you cannot join their PF.

I instant blacklist anyone if I cannot join their PF. It's happened several times in my 9 years of playing. If they would blacklist me and I find out about it, it's definitely going to become mutual.

I feel like there needs to be something in place to inform me that I can't send a message to recipient because I am blacklisted. That way I don't waste time trying to contact them.
But I'll take the cold shoulder / non response as a good reason to stop attempting communication. In my case it was a former FC member I wasn't sure if they wanted to remain on friend's list or not.

It could be any number of reasons. AFK, didn't see it due to all the other system messages, in a duty, disconnected while AFK and didn't get back in time to see it, too busy, tabbed out watching Netflix.

Multiple attempts over a period of time might help to be more certain. If you know for sure they are present (for example they run past you) or this behaviour is abnormal for them from what you previously experienced, then you can probably assume they blacklisted.

Personally, if one attempt doesn't work for me I'd be unlikely to try again regardless of if they blacklisted but that's just how I am.

I just blacklist MTX sellers every time in public chat with that accursed website link promising people gil nothing warrants the list like that.

This is not always the case and seemingly can be affected by being in instanced areas like the Island Sanctuary, housing, etc under certain weird circumstances because I've run into multiple PFs that were giving the "unable to join" message, but after leaving the mentioned areas I was able to join as normal.

send them a friend request, send them mail. try to trade them. all these ways can confirm if you've been blacklisted

they could be afk. they could have chat off. they could be not responding. just try and trade them and then you will know. also if they were on your friendlist, check if you can tp to there estate. if you cant they've removed you

Maybe you should try it. Ask a friend, who can blacklist you. Then send him messages, trade items with him etc. And see what happens.
