Intreged by his Icon on his name, I spoke forward and we began to talk. Below is a picture and the log of our discussion. I had to use Google Translate to talk, and many people around didn't talk German, so he was talking for a small bit on his own first. Sadly I had to leave due to us being full and I didn't want to make people wait. Enjoy! He was a reporter for The Harbor Herald!

I loved this whole scenario and I hated the fact I had to leave >.< Does anyone know what you recieve for this? If anything, the experience alone made me love FFXIV even more.

They sometimes use quotes from people in these "interviews" in the lodestone news updates.

this is considered a live event. the reporter seems to trade in-character information as a commodity, so if you say something the reporter may consider news-worthy, they may be interested in offering some news of their own, or trade you a dozen or so fireworks associated with their newspaper.

Note that all 3 newspapers have their own unique firework, and if you use it once on yourself, you get a lodestone history entry/achievement.
