DDOS: Refund time impacted attacks please

Agree, I have a lot of playtime, and been affected every single day. Lost progress in dungeons, timed events etc. I believe we deserve some compensation. Thank joooo

Though i have dc'ed daily for past 7 days, i was still able to play everyday!
I dont want any compensation...
I rather want them to spend that money/time to
build better protection or ways to avoid ddos in future.

The ToS specifically protects them for failure to provide service. So if the do it it's because they feel they have to from a public relations viewpoint.

stop using the ToS like some sort of shield , big corpos like Apple,Amazon and google,twitter, damn facebook have been subjects of lawsuits even when people agreed to their ToS , A ToS doesnt mean you completely forfeit your rights as a consumer

For how much of the month it’s affected less then 1/4 if we count it and even that it’s not been all day but partial hours cause my friend has been experiencing it but still doing stuff so it hasn’t been crippling… it equates to like £1.50 here lol I’m not even going to remotely grumble on £1.50 which is the cost of a mayo chicken at McDonald’s almost lol if this was a month maybe I’d be more ok with asking for something but as it stands not really, stuff happens it is what it is… I just expect a brief comment during the live letter and that’s about it honestly. Technically the longer this goes on for the more ways they can find ways to plug it for future attacks so technically it’s a good thing at the same time lol

I've lost multiple nights of Criterion prog at this point. We load in, beat the first boss and then all get kicked out and lose our checkpoint, so no one in the group wants to even try until we know the DDOS is gone.

I've heard from friends doing TOP in PF that it's similarly unplayable: it's a struggle to get 8 players all into the instance, and then someone disconnects during p4 and wipes the group, people get annoyed and leave, etc.

Free gametime? I think it could be a PR win.

For me I'm annoyed by it, but I'm trying to keep it realistic, it's not something they can 'just fix it bro' for now, but free game time as compensation could generate some goodwill and keep people somewhat happy.

I've been wanting to play PVP but pvp with lag/disconnects is awful. I have been putting off crafting as well...I definitely didn't feel comfortable doing rouls with frequent dcs going on. It's not severe but it is annoying. I hope I can get my series to 25 before DT drops, that's all.

I also wanted to dip my toes in the unreal and catch up to some of EW's exs that I missed...things I don't think is going to be possible unless I know we're in the 'safe side'. So yes, people have been affected and it has been abit disruptive.

Many people in the English-speaking community don’t have an issue with what’s going on. One of the advertised benefits of Final Fantasy XIV is that it lets you play other games unlike WoW. So by going offline, the game is still giving you something by letting you play other games. Yoshi-sama cares about your personal health and wants you to touch grass. There’s been some complaints about not being able to complete raids, but you know this isn’t WoW, right? Yoshi-sama wants you to take a break and chill. That’s a good thing and that’s why so many players came to FFXIV during Shadowlands.

Speaking of which, being DDoSed is perfectly normal. Many websites and games have it way worse and they never get free game time, like WoW. So why should FFXIV be any different? At least it’s a quality experience. After all, Meteion is nothing like the Jailer. So I think we should all be grateful of Yoshi-sama and Square Enix delivering such an outstanding game, they’re trying their best!

Are we talking about the same WoW I’m thinking of? Holy hells, I played that game for 10 years, and there were numerous times when we received free game time due to the servers being unavailable for much longer than expected whatever the reason was for the outage.

1-2 days should suffice and also whenever it get to it, SE is NOT supposed to do this as no one can bar themself form DDoS.

It is a part of the game running and using servers.
