Are you that desperate for 2 days of playtime? Give them a break.

Agree, I have a lot of playtime, and been affected every single day. Lost progress in dungeons, timed events etc. I believe we deserve some compensation. Thank joooo![]()

Sounds like someone who wants to speak to a manager.
For me, having to apologize in the form of monetary compensation has little to do with me wanting 2 days worth of sub back, and more to do with companies needing to be held accountable for their service. I can guarantee if they had a more robust architecture and had spent a good amount of money/time on trying to defend against this sort of attack, it wouldn't be nearly as bad as it's been. But they don't.

The only way to do that is to scale up. Scaling up costs a LOT of money when you don't normally need to.
Its like having a 12 lane highway when traffic only calls for a 2 lane.
If they had spent a lot of money and time on protecting against DDoS attacks, they could have mitigated the problems significantly. That would be a LOT of expensive hardware and network bandwidth sitting unused during normal times when there are no attacks going on.
Would you like much higher subscription prices to pay for all those resources that sit unused 99% of the time?
You're right, so the cheaper option is to give your customers a little 'thank you' for having to deal with the issue. You end up looking good, customers are happy, and you don't have to have that 12 lane highway ready. If they had spent a lot of money and time on protecting against DDoS attacks, they could have mitigated the problems significantly. Don't know if you've been playing that long, and I don't disagree, but SE has an unfortunately rock-solid history of never pro-rating or comping extra sub time when the game is borked, for any reason.
