    Should FFXIV have Private Instances?

I'm throwing this idea out here because I've recently seen/been in situations where either I was in a streamer's party, or caught up in a large group situation (like when new content drops) where too many players in a small area make both finding the content NPC's and party members unable to login to the same server, and people constantly doing things to obstruct the streamer's vision in the world.

To me, the obvious solution is to have a Paid "login to private world instance" where the server generates an invite code for the player paying for it, and it would isolate the player to an instance of the world map they are on, and the people they invite or are in their party/company would automatically move to whatever zone they are in with them when that player is on, denying the teleport prompt drops them back to the regular instance of the world. Duty finder would work the same as before, but only match players in the instance. The person paying for the instance could also "disable mounts and minions" to allow more people into the instance.

I'm not advocating this for RP, but clearly that would open up a lot of possibilities, positive and negative. Mostly just looking at a means to both allow streamers to play the game with their viewers without causing a disturbance for the rest of the server, especially when that might result in 1000 viewers trying to join the same server at once.

Finding NPCs is always difficult on patch day. You can improve this by:
    • Typing /sconfig, going to Other Settings and reducing Character and Object Quantity to Minimum.
    • Holding X so that only quest things are clickable. Note that this may not have this effect if you altered the click filter settings.
You also have the option to visit other instances, worlds or data centers with less congestion.

As for zones reaching their cap so that nobody else can enter, I have only seen this once and it was when Asmongold started streaming the game. Limsa Lominsa Lower Decks actually reached its overall cap so he could not leave the tutorial area. That's extraordinary, because when EW released, instances had over 500-600 people in for Chi. It took a person with literally 200,000 viewers to achieve congeston even worse than Chi. In a situation like his, it could help to have a private instance that can be requested, but it's pretty niche for a streamer to be that big and he could have started on a less congested DC at the time.

For the most disruptive players, a streamer can report them and in 7.0 they will be able to blacklist them so they don't render.

Private instances are every botters dream. No thanks. They are prevalent enough as it is without also being hidden from players.

Paid private world instance? But why... I like the idea of different instances on maps, but I don't think they'd implement it permanently unless it's needed.

The only solution I can think of is adding the ability to hide players in the open world (maybe exclude your party from it), it'd help performance abit in crowded areas for those who have lower end PCs. It'll also solve the whole issue with 'Timmy and his friends are welcoming/harassing a streamer', I think it'd be a gain on patch days where people crowd quest NPCs.

The idea of an exclusive paid world is very weird to me and I don't think it should ever be implemented, it sounds really unnecessary and out of place.

I think streamers get enough special attention as is, why make them feel like VIP's when they are gamers just like the rest of us?

As for zones reaching their cap so that nobody else can enter, I have only seen this once and it was when Asmongold started streaming the game.
The streams combined had about 25,000 viewers, of which two of them dropped at the same time (Primal) and only one could get back in, getting a "server is full" error that we typically only see on day 0 expansion content.

I also seen it happen on the Aether DC under nearly the same conditions (several streamers with 1000's of viewers) in one place. Streamer had everyone outside their housing area and had to start requesting the minions be turned off so more people could be there.

Anyway the point was that the streamers always have a very disruptive presence to the server they play on when they actively stream.
