[dev1022] Changes to the current battle system to make them fun and engaging

    Combat Flow:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNT_H7Q5yCE
First of all use an ATB bar similar to FFXIII. You can stack commands until the bar is full. Also different commands will take up different amounts of space. Think of the ATB a 1-100 and each command has a predetermined number based on weapon type and ability. This adds the "weapon delay" type effect.

    <_Light Attack_> <Light Stab> <___Heavy Slash___> <Guard>
    [}}}}}}}}}__________________________________________________]

You can cancel command with the cancel button which deletes the last command input. Unlike FFXIII though the commands are executed when the gauge reaches said command untill the the bar is full then starts over.

    Combo Weapon Skill System:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yL-_0...eature=related
Instead of having preset WS based on TP have them performed based on attack commands used. Based on the order of commands in the ATB the system will know if they character use a 2, 3, 4, or 5 command combo attack. These combo aren't powerful and won't consume TP.

Example: Light Slash + Light Slash = Circle Slash. Light Stab + Light Slash + Heavy Slash = Onion Cut

    Tactical Point Abilities:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GSh8qhgz89o
These are very special moves that happen when you fill up your TP bar. Think FFVII Limit Breaks. They are strong, flashy, and can limited. The TP doesn't not go down until you log out but it takes time to fill. Ideal you would save this moves for strong boss battles

    Battle Regimen:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4Z-uu_Qn3I
Battle regimen should be easy to use and based on the armoury system. Different ability link up to perform different moves. Light Slash + Fire = Red Lotus. You start by hitting the BR button and select the command you want to use. The command is greyed out of your ATB and placed in the BR Window, http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y15...g?t=1301164967

This allows all the players in the party to see when a BR is happening and let them decide what command to input. The final person in the combo clicks the finish button to start the BR. By greying out the ATB is allows the player to continue playing without having to wait for another player to join/finish the BR.

BR should be flashy, add a enemy debuff / party buff, and also add damage.

    Summons:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y5zOz5-xP4c
This will serve as the classes "2 hour" ability in that it's a one time shot instead of a progressive beast. It allows all players to summon a guardian instead of special class. They are summoned, perform ability like Divine Justice, then go back to the other world.

    Just one question

You start by hitting the BR button and select the command you want to use. The command is greyed out of your ATB and placed in the BR Window
Why can not the BR go off when you press it? You can notify others with the BR window that Light Slash was used and give them a few seconds to react with their own skill. I don't think there is a need to make us wait and for skills to go off at once.

well currently it goes into a queue and I think that works best for online. You can always have the problem with communication, lag, player is in the middle of a spell, or not paying attention. I just think a queue type system is better overall.

One of the problems people had with FFXIII was the wait time.
It was the fact that you had to input commands and then press a button to execute them.

I had an idea about an extended battle queue and it is exactly this, the only difference is that once you input the first command it automatically executes, you can keep attaching commands to this to continue the "combo chain" I called it.

They could use this with the system that's going, just use then stamina to determine how many attacks you can chain in.

I like it though good stuff Thanks for coming up with solutions other then Auto-attack and an auction house, I'm sick of hearing of both, they'll both ruin the game and no one seems to understand that lol.

I love MMORPG's for the multiplayer co-op aspect a Tank, a healer some crowd control and damage dealer. Everyone working together as a group to overcome tough content. I am only rank25 but all I see is 15 people running in and ganking monsters in Behest. its really boring, you just keep spamming that every hour to rank up. I am trying really hard to enjoy the game but its just a matter of time before it get repetative.

I like the concept of the FFXIII combat flow, and for the most part it could work. All that needs to be added is a queue for you to link abilities onto, and it's ready. The main difference would be the lack of pause in the stamina gauges build up, keeping the battles fast (relatively). It would be a better alternative to the auto-battle system, since it would eliminate the need for one.

As for the Xenogears combo system, I'd say no to solo combos. This game needs a community feel, which is why the main way of getting SP is through groups right now (but whether that works is another story). If it were an addition to the Battle Regiment system though I'd love to see it in action.

I feel your pain. I'm a THM (r22) and it seems ridiculous that the only way to level is to behest and leve links, but there are other topics outlaying the SP problems.
