    Tribal Mounts

I've recently started doing beast tribes. Everyone knows it's just another daily thing, and pretty monotonous in general. Kill some things, gather other things. While some have some unique things, like the whole dream thing with the pixies, but it's generally all the same. I haven't done beast tribes in current content since I'm going back through the game to get them, but so far it's been... really really boring. I know it's side content, but even the rewards suck.

I'm doing Heavensward beast tribes at the moment, with the Vanu Vanu and Vath at level 6, and I've completed all the ARR tribes so far. I don't know the full shop for Heavensward beast tribes, but if it's anything like ARR it's just... lame? It's a good excuse to put crafting mats somewhere where you can buy them instead of farming for them, but after it taking SO LONG to finish the ARR tribes all my crafters were already 50+ and I had no need to use the vendors other than grabbing the minion and mount. Not to mention, if you level using leves, the restoration, or other turn ins then, again, they're useless.

To talk about mounts... SO MANY TRIBE MOUNTS SUCK. It's cool for a while, and then I swap it out for a cooler mount and forget about it. I've seen the endwalker ones a lot and those are probably the best, specifically the Miw Miisv, and other expansions have some good ones like the Portly Porxie, Mikoshi, and the Cloud Mallow. There are others that are very meh to me, but the ones I listed are mounts I would actually use.

The whole point of this post is my feeble wish that beast tribes have better rewards. I feel like I'm doing all this work to just collect mounts and minions, and unlock a dye vendor. You do get some unique glamours, like the sable death mask for doing all the ARR tribes. I just wish there were more of that stuff available in the vendors. Unique, out of the way, GOOD LOOKING glams.

The Amalj'aa Calvary Drake is still one of my favourite mounts as it can breathe fire. The HW tribes are nice if you plan on making relic weapons as you can buy the Unidentifiable stuff from them with all your excess tokens.

ARR tribal quests are annoying because they eat up all your daily allowance for small gains, where as after that you can work on 4 different tribes at once.

Yeah, tribe quests are easy, not all that exciting. They're just meant to be another thing to do. They've become better over time, with increased experience, and the quality of items has increased alongside that. These things they offer aside from mounts and music, etc, were all very useful in their time, but they were meant as a backup source of these items. That being said, I hear you 100%. They are kinda lackluster in the long run. There's some hidden gems in there though, like the music from the Vanu is one of my favourites in game. Coming Home. Love that jam. Just chip away at the beast tribes, get your rewards. Eventually after you do all of the hw/sb/ew tribes youll unlock another questline and a "secret" emote for completing them, the equivalent of the sable mask reward for all ARR tribes.

My favorite tribal mount is the ixal direwolf
I like how light blue it is :3
The Vath Kongamato is kinda petty imo. It looks weird but I like that.
I think we could use more mounts are specifically cold themed. My chocobo looks pretty cold in Ishgard and Garlemald.

But yeah, as someone who has done every tribe and yet to unlock EW tribes (still going through every yellow quest in EW zones) I would be fine if they added more rewards. I am unsure what those better rewards would look like. We could always use more bows. Maybe a necklace bow or something. Better glams would be nice- maybe things that fit the style of each tribe so that you get some variety. The minions are very nice imo- the dragonets are one of my favorite ones. They do include frames from each tribe (save for ARR) which is nice to collect.
Overall, I complete each tribe as part of a checklist. Good glams are always welcome.

But quick. It takes like 10 minutes to do them. The point isn't the grindy bit, it's the story reward you get for it. The stories are good.
I know it's side content, but even the rewards suck.
Well that's an opinion. Many of us do the tribes for the mounts, and in my opinion a lot of them are cool! Not a lot of people bother with old beast tribes, so the mounts tend to be quite rare as well.

One of the fun things about doing new beast tribes is that everyone else is doing them too, so you all get the mount together and show it off to eachother.

I liked that one, because they were hard to fully understand, but you could make out a story.

I think the Elephant mount is cool! And the wolf mount. And the striped ray (this is on my favorites list). The griffin is also one I like to use sometimes. The cavalry drake can breath fire.

I think the required length to do all the ARR tribes does need to be toned down a little move. Given the amount of rewards and the significance (or lack thereof) for them in general.

I will say though, this is just mounts in general... For me I went from Phoenix, to using Wyvern, to then using Kamuy, to then using Pteranodon, to then using Zodiark's Lynx, to then using Pteranodon again, and then I will likely replace the Pteranodon when I get the Centurio Tiger... That's just how they are... Spend time earning one cool mount, just to replace it with an even cooler mount from elsewhere later down the line.

Personally, I think the whole concept of tribal quests needs revisiting though.

It's a game, so if you don't enjoy doing something, just... don't do it. Sure, any part of any game could have rewards that you like more, but in this instance, you have the option to just not do the parts of the game that aren't fun for you.

the length is fine for tribes arr its only 5 stages, its the rep you get from the quests that needs to be adjusted in ARR. I htink doing how the echtayl 9 rep rewards are done one quest for like 70 and then the rest increased by 10 because i want to say at min you get 14 for basic, then 24, and can't remember the 3 rd, but your turn in one is 70 for example.

Generally speaking, the rewards for doing tribe quests are pretty good considering that they are pretty low effort. They do feel like a chore after a time, for sure. But the questlines and cutscenes are pretty wholesome and rewarding as well. Rewards/currency exchanges are exp, dyes, glamours, music, furniture, minions, materia, titles, and the mounts so they are definitely worth the time you put in to complete them. Albeit tedious.

The mounts have been a hit or miss for me. Some of my favorites that still make my rotation are the Direwolf, Bomb Palaquin, True Griffin, Striped ray (my go to underwater mount), Portly Porxie, Moon Hopper, and Miw Miisv is probably my favorite of them all (reminds me of a Metroid). The ones I like the least are Cloud Mallow, Marid, Kongamato, and Sanuwa. A lot of the mounts also come with actions, which is a bonus.

That said, the ARR tribe quests could probably use some tuning. But I also remember doing them back in HW before I had anything at 50 or higher, and things like status effects slowing you down after getting a thunder spell shoved up your butt from a Sylph was still a thing.

Sounds like different strokes for different folks. Personally, I think the tribe quests were plenty rewarding. Tribe quests offer unique gear, mounts, minions, and stories, as well as easy experience to level your jobs. If absolutely none of that interests you, fair enough. In that case, it sounds like there's no reason for you to do them, so just give them a pass. Not everything in the game is going to be to any one person's tastes, so if I like it and you don't, that's to be expected.
