Maybe if they made those roles desirable to play people would
Who wants to spam 1 button while the tank does their job for them or queues into casual content to proceed to play solo and have a gimped melee rotation
There is nothing desirable about the supports in modern 14

Not only is gunbreaker desirable to play. It's rotation can be very stressful in high end content and with much fewer mitigation than pld war and drk it requires more careful planning, creating a return for investment. I also really enjoy pld in 8 man content because if its ability to carry a bad tank/healer. and war is the perfect dng tank. If you want a more engaging healer try scholar. Having to choose between healing and dpsing allways keeps things alive and healing in dngs as scholar requires brain power to accomplishMaybe if they made those roles desirable to play people would

I'm afraid this is simply a matter of perspective vs matter of fact. Trying to say sprouts won't play tank is a flwed stance. Tank is the literal best job for a sprout because mecanics do not effect the the same and they have more panic buttons

It speaks wonders to your point that you immediately have to jump to high end content to justify the excitement of these jobsNot only is gunbreaker desirable to play. SCH is quite possibly the single most boring job in casual content

I'm not sure why that's all you saw but allow me to repeat myself
If you want a more engaging healer try scholar. Having to choose between healing and dpsing allways keeps things alive and healing in dngs as scholar requires brain power to accomplishWhere was it stated only that I meant high end content? The first 8 man instance is a level 40 guildhest. I also really enjoy pld in 8 man content because if its ability to carry a bad tank/healer. and war is the perfect dng tank.
This is once again not a matter of fact but opinion and one I would question at that. Implying you find sch more boring than White mage makes me think the very reason you don't like it is because it's harderSCH is quite possibly the single most boring job in casual content

Because if you think you are choosing between healing and damage with SCH in casual content that’s more a misunderstanding on modern SXH gameplay, you also mentioned GNB specifically in high end content for its rotation
This thread is functionally about dungeons and I physically ally cannot think of a job that has less engagement than a job that has a single button in AOE
Sorry I didn’t mean to come off as inflammatory, my bad

I don't understand why you wouldn't be choosing? You have 3 - 6 stacks of aetherflow a minute and once they're used they're gone till cooldowns off. If you waste them then you will have consequences so I'm not sure what you're implying. This also applies to dungeons too so again not sure why that's thereBecause if you think you are choosing between healing and damage with SCH in casual content that’s more a misunderstanding on modern SXH gameplay, you also mentioned GNB specifically in high end content for its rotation

Not for me, that is actually BLM and RDM. You get to bounce between fire and ice or bounce between light and dark while staring at the gauge and slide casting attacks. Mind you at some point, the RDM does get a burst of excitement while the formers only real excitement is getting to cycle for mana and avoid attacks. Also note, as a BLM, I would say 50% of healers have likely prioritized you as the last to heal because they do not exactly understand how as a BLM, you have a long cooldown, yet awesome shield, but that is literally it, no self healing like all the other classes at mid game. So I feel Scholar is a step up from that. I will say though that Sch healing is still much more fluid than current Ast and we will have to see what happens there for the future. Personally, the Holy Trinity (Tank - Heal - DPS) has almost always created its own issues like this. I almost wish there was a mechanics that kept all three in check and that they made all classes more action paced. Of course I offer no good way they could accomplish this since most games are all 1000% about doing the most damage the quickest to end the encounter. Part of me thinks it would be hilarious if they added a random reflect, but that would likely just punish the healers.
