And before you start furiously typing, ppl openly complain about the egdelords all the time and it seems fine, but the moment you complain about the kawaii obsessed adults, which we need a name for similar to edgelord, suddenly you are a horrible person who should just let ppl enjoy what they enjoy, or you should find a different game, cause reasons. Which just frankly makes these types more insufferable because it makes them seem even more immature.

Dunno, but I have creeping suspicion that edgelordliness is actually slightly (or more than slightly) tolerated; like in society, like in arguments about media and culture. And there is wide grey area where thing x occupying it is kinda edgelordy but also respectable.

Then, we see a little bit of candy coloured something and the only way for that thing to reclaim their credence is to become less fun and whimsical and colourful. Why? Genuinely why? Why I never saw demands for cute, colorful flair for any of the four jobs above? Why I only see demands for PIC to not be colorful and quirky, or DNC to only be "female character only job!!".

(⬆= quotation marks, because i knew someone who was very distressed about the idea of ever seeing male character dancer. i also have creeping suspicion that they weren't alone with their opinion.)

I am pretty sure most pro-PIC people aren't obsessed with kawaii, and actually enjoy darkness and moody aesthetic too. (mememe!)
But there is excitement in having something fun and new and unique in horizon, and it'd be disappointment to have it turned into same old dark and mysterious and grievous aesthetic just because; when the game is not lacking that, unlike the cute and colorful aesthetic.

Only place where the whimsy runs rampant are the humorous housing skins, paissas and moogles and candies! While I just want haukke manor of my own!! Please.
