I honestly think Picto is more based on Griseo from Honkai Impact 3rd. But hey, Final Fantasy 6 had it first!

I honestly think Picto is more based on Griseo from Honkai Impact 3rd. But hey, Final Fantasy 6 had it first!Picto just stings me because IIRC it was used on ONE character (that I doubt many people used much) in ONE game, and she really didn't have anything that a blue mage couldn't do. It's like sticking the finger to blue mage and saying "sorry, we can't work you into a proper job. Instead, let's bring back the walmart version of you and make IT a proper job"

It’s a good thing not to answer your enemies. I scarcely ever do. Perhaps Emily is more like me than I am like myself. Perhaps she would rather not answer her friends, even. She keeps it all in her heart.
Looks really cool actually. I think our picto will have yogurt graphics though (as seen in trailer)I honestly think Picto is more based on Griseo from Honkai Impact 3rd. But hey, Final Fantasy 6 had it first!

Not a big fan of what they showcased though and thought it was a wasted opportunity.
That being said, having a job that look cute/goofy for people that like that is fine and i see no reason to be that hostile toward it.
i can see the resemblance , also reminds me of that weird painter class Aion released back in....2017? maybe?..I honestly think Picto is more based on Griseo from Honkai Impact 3rd. But hey, Final Fantasy 6 had it first!

why is WoW living rent free inside your heads?
Yeah, the Vandal/Painter. However if you look at the concept art of that class, it actually looked like a cool idea.
But what instead they got was a class that's shooting paint from some round rings on their hands. I think the devs mentioned it would've been harder to implement class based on the concept art? I can't remember.

Most of the setup for geomancer in XIV points to it being a healer. We just got sage in Endwalker, while we haven't had a (full) caster since red mage in Stormblood. Maybe in 9.0 when healer's turn rolls around again. Also, Picto being chosen over GEO kinda had me baffled. Every bit of setup GEO needed to be introduced is already somewhere in the game, and it's been more prominent throughout the series as a whole. I (probably foolishly) got myself excited to get back to using the elements and ringing those handbells from FF11, so I guess I've got only my expectations to blame.

That's my thinking as well. It was time for a full caster. Although, I'm not sure we really need any more full jobs after DT's release. I mean, looking at the various armor names like Slaying, Striking, etc... where would it be needed?
We're filled to the brim!
People want Geomancer but that's just Astrologian all over again.
Maybe Green Mage but CBU3 has shown a dislike for DoTs. They've designed everything around a 2 minute burst window and a job built around DoTs doesn't fit within that paradigm. It's too bad, my favorite class in WoW was the Affliction Warlock. Playing a job in FFXIV which allows me to DoT up my enemies, place conditional buffs and mitigation on my friends, without any healing spells would be interesting.

It's not too difficult to come up with a solution to make it work. Just copy the Thundercloud mechanic from BLM and couple that with the Flourish skill from DNC.
Or fill up a gauge when the DoTs are running and then use hard hitting attacks which consume the gauge.

Dark Knights looking at the reaper class like, you don't say, never would have thought they would just clown a class like that..... They literally stole abilities and visuals from the Drk and put them on the reaper. I don't mean copied either, took them straight off the Drk and just gave them to the Reaper.Picto just stings me because IIRC it was used on ONE character (that I doubt many people used much) in ONE game, and she really didn't have anything that a blue mage couldn't do. The circumstances made it especially bad.Dark Knights looking at the reaper class like, you don't say, never would have thought they would just clown a class like that..... DRK was asking for years to get a proper job identity back and to get buffs to their self sustain.
And then EW comes out and every tank got massive buffs - and DRK got Oblation, a weak 10% defense buff, a line AoE he already had, and a buff to Salted Earth of all things after they have nerfed the ability just before in ShB. Didn't we wanted that clunky bubble to be removed?
And then Reaper comes out and basically got everything DRK ever wanted.
But let's not forget that people were asking to get DRK as a dps job like it was back in FF11. Reaper is fine - DRK is the problem.
Same with Picto and Blue Mage.
