    Nothing would be known for sure, as it's an undyable item.
    But many PvP gear is dyable (so you can create team colours) and while this one is from Frontlines, it's still a bit odd one out. Especially for the work you gotta do.
    It would be nice to be able to dye it.

    It was requested so often.
    I think they can't change an item on the fly that already exists, because some people could be wearing it. So they would have to make a NPC that exchanges the coat for a new coat that is dyeable. Could be the same NPC that exchanges old wolf collar weapons for the upgraded ones with the animations.
    Make the upgrade cost 15 wolfcollar and people are happy nevertheless.

    This has never been an issue with previous items they've changed to be dyeable.

    As for if will we be able to in Dawntrail, I wouldn't hold my breath. I'd honestly be surprised if most older items that can already be dyed will support the second dye channel. They'll probably mostly focus on newer stuff and popular items people like to glamour.

    They changed like eighty some items for the Tactics Ogre sweepstakes, tho. Relatively recently.
