    Unable to use pre order code on my account

    I keep getting this error
    Unable to verify proof of ownership for FINAL FANTASY XIV in the Steam Library.
    Please ensure FINAL FANTASY XIV has been purchased from the Steam Store, then try logging in again.
    And i have been having a very hard time to get any help, i own this game for close to 10 years and been playing on and off since , and have no idea why is this happening

    You didn't really provide much information to respond to. Where did you pre-order Dawntrail? Do you play on Steam or is the "Steam Library ownership" the issue? How did you get the code and where are you trying to enter it? If we know what you're doing when receiving this message, we can better troubleshoot.

    This game doesn't support Family Share on Steam, in case you have that on or use it to access a different account with the game in the library.

    Did you purchase whatever the code came from, in the correct region, as these codes are region locked.
    The code will need to match both the Steam account region and the Square Enix account region. If they don't match, you normally get that error you have.

    Without knowing what you ordered and from which region and your accounts' regions we won't know exactly why you get that error.
