Petition for Spanish Translation of Final Fantasy XIV

I know quite a lot of people who would love to enjoy our beloved game and they don't or can't simply because their english is not good enough to fully enjoy the story.

Obviously, translating a game like this is neither easy nor cheap, but the spanish-speaking community is sooo big that just having text translation would be really really appreciated.

I'm not sure the timing of such a petition is going to be effective. We're what, 2 months out from DT, so if there is going to be a new translation, it's been in the works already for months, and they're certainly not going to see this thread at this stage and think "oh yea, let's get started on the Spanish translation."

As a brazillian, I'd love for the game to be translated to portuguese as well, but I know how unrealistic it is, but I really can't see why the game can't be in spanish. There are so many spanish speakers throught the entire world that not translating just feels like a poor marketing decision at this point, I hope this changes something, you have my full support.

Well, the game will be around for quite some more time, it's not like Dawntrail release will be a deadline for any possible new translation.

That said, it is really absurd we're getting "South America: The Expansion" in two months and none of the main languages spoken there is localized. I get it is expensive, but this is Square Enix. I am sure they can afford it. Even with voiced lines, probably, but they could also start with translated subtitles and add the voiced cutscenes later if all at once is a bit much. Our Spanish speaking Warriors of Light deserve better than this.

And we compare it on the numbers of members and active members of the Spanish Community (wich doesn\\'t include so many Latin and we don\\'t have an official translation, therefore we\\'re not "maxed out"):


We can see that, in fact, IT IS feasible from a finance PoV

I have no idea what your picture said.

But one point is Spanish speaking countries isn’t exactly known to paying subscription based games.


Not to mention how much manpower, time and money this would take. I’d rather them focus on giving us better content than a localisation for only 5k potential players.

If SE wanted to they would already offered it a decade ago.

That is true. I grew up in Spain and my friend often mentioned how she struggled to get into FFXIV because it's not in Spanish like WoW. While she's playing now with her husband, they do struggle a lot of times.
