When we try to inform potential players, they refuse to play it for the same reason; not translated. Even people that know english refuse to do so, because afterall you end up translating mentally to your language and that might be exhausting when you want to just relax and enjoy D:

Animo a todo el mundo que aporten su granito de arena, nos unimos a una causa común que nos afecta a todos.
FFXIV para mí es mi segunda vivienda, y mis amigos junto con mi static son mi segunda familia en cual me siento orgulloso de ser parte.

Desde el principio he soñado con que algún día la traducción al español sucederá, mantendré mi fe incluso en el fin de mis días.

I don't speak Spanish, but my better half does. Spanish is a major language; in Europe, large parts of North and South America, and also in the Pacific. It would need a few more headcount in the translation team, but the money coming in from increased subs might well pay for that. Having En/Es/Fr/De/Jp also means one more to the core set of languages that other European customers (like Italian, or Portuguese, or some around the Fr/Es border in the Pyrenees) might be polyglot in.

And of course that rather large and wonderful country in North America, Canada's deuxième sous-sol so to say, exists too. So I now actually wonder if Soken speaks Spanish, not as a translator of course, but as a important and beloved part of the company.

That's actually a good point. As some Portuguese-speaking players have mentioned, they might give the game a try in Spanish rather than English, since it could be easier for them. Who's to say there aren't Italian or Nordic players, for example, who DO speak Spanish but aren't fluent in English? There are even some players who have said they'd like to practise their Spanish and while the main focus should be accessibility, there's that too. Support's coming from many sides, so thank you.

Let's hope that they take this post whole threat into consideration. Lot of people asking for it, not to mention those that cannot access the forums because you need to be playing the last 14 days to be able to login and post, and are taking a break before dawntrail.
There is a clear inspiration in Pre-Hispanic South America in the next expansion, so it is a bit sad that people from South America and Central America cannot enjoy the game as they speak Spanish.

Real issue is there probably ARE enough players. Enough as to make a translation not worth it. If there where no players I bet they'd translate to try get some. Wouldnt be the first game I see do that. This is a corpo after all. Money is all that matters.

I myself started and stopped playing twice because it was not in Spanish. The third time was when I continued playing until the end but with the wonderful story it has, it is a shame that there are many things that I end up not understanding well because it is not translated into my language; We only ask for at least the translation of the texts even if the voices are still in English

I have been playing since 2014 and I am one of those players who "skipped" the history of ARR, HW and SB. When I realized that the content did not innovate and was always the same scheme, I only had the story to keep me playing. It is very difficult to understand the expressions for a non-native English speaker, so if the story is a 10/10 for me it remains a 7/10 and in general this is what happens with players who speak Spanish.

Llevo jugando desde 2014 y soy de aquellos jugadores que "skippearon" la historia de ARR, HW y SB. Cuando me di cuenta que el contenido no innovaba y siempre era el mismo esquema, solo me quedaba la historia para mantenerme jugando. Cuesta mucho entender las expresiones para un no angloparlante nativo, por lo que si la historia es un 10/10 para mi se queda en un 7/10 y en general es lo que ocurre con los jugadores que hablan español.
