    digital art for gil= RMT?

My friend recently got a warning about having his cardd info in his adventure plate showing that he does digital commisions for gil. and someone reported him under the guise of RMT and i was just want clarification if doing digital commisions for gil is considered RMT of any kind, since its not a physical currency and no money is being transferred that is usable in real life

hmm, you're trading an out of game resource for an in-game resource, I suppose I could see an argument that when the in-game/out of game line is crossed for these sort of transactions, it 'could' be considered sus?

That said, for me the advertising part on the adventure plate is what I find sketchy.

Unless you consider art worthless, then yes it's RMT.
The M in RMT doesn't always specifically refer to a currency.

Real Money Trading (RMT) is the buying and selling of in-game data (items, characters, etc.) in exchange for real life currency. This type of activity is prohibited in FINAL FANTASY XIV. Action will be taken against users who have initiated RMT transactions, as well as users who join RMT transactions.

    - Lodestone FAQ https://support.na.square-enix.com/f...20transactions.

    ■Real-Money Trading (RMT)
RMT refers to an act of directly or indirectly transferring, assigning, lending, borrowing, or delegating in-game data or in-game activity for compensation (which include currency, goods, property, currency available outside of our services, character(s), item(s), point(s), data, information, etc.) or assisting in this type of behavior. If RMT activity is verified, a penalty will be issued.

Examples of RMT include offering or receiving compensation for the following:

    - Accounts
    - Characters
    - In-game currency (gil)
    - In-game services
    - In-game items
    - In-game activities (such as selling clears)

    * Items and gil obtained through third-party tools or RMT can affect the game's economic stability and disrupt gameplay balance. Moreover, some third-party programs contain viruses and spyware that can harm players; this can lead to unauthorized disclosure of users' personal data, character deletion, identity theft, and other unfortunate circumstances.

Even if you are not actually involved in the transaction of RMT, if you offer or advertise RMT, you are aiding and encouraging the act of RMT. For this reason, this is considered RMT.
The codes that are included with books and merchandise, as well as codes purchased on the FINAL FANTASY XIV Online Store, are purchased in the real world using real-world currency. Exchanging them for in-game currency or items is also considered RMT.

Please note that Square Enix may conduct investigations and issue a penalty in its discretion even if a report has not been filed.

I suppose the idea of trading/selling a real item with value (art can be sold for money) for in game currency makes it RMT. Kinda weird though.

So in summary: keep advertising to Discord servers.

Just don't be like the people that think it's cool to DM strangers and beg for commissions. It's not.
