About the free Fantasia that was promised

Yoshi-P mentioned we will all be getting a free fantasia but how is it going to be delivered? Mogmail? Or a code to our emails? Is it one per player or one per character? I do hope every character gets one since they are changing all characters.

And the other question is, when? I've been assuming they will be delivered before launch but it's not on the expansion page or a bonus for pre-ordering. What if they are trying to cash in and profit from those who dislike their new appearance or want to try Hrothgal, and then give us the free Fantasia in a later patch?

Are they going to offer it to new players/characters as well or just the ones who were here before the graphics update?

Either way, it'll most likely come by in-game mail, the same as any other fantasia delivery.

They know full well that Fantasia would sell like hotcakes otherwise, and while it's within the realms of possibility, that'd be some Blizzard level scummy move.

They could just make it per-character and make it claimable at one of the recompense officers. that would avoid the issues of full mailboxes and people not getting it if they log in late.
They're hardly used besides claiming stuff from events or MSQ you accidentally threw away.

I don't know for sure, but I would guess a Mogmail to anyone who created their character prior to 7.0. They did a similar thing with the Falcon mount.

Per character would make the most sense since this affects characters. I already get 2 fantasias if I make a new character so they have the capability.

I don't think it would make sense for new characters because they can see the new graphics from the start.

At first he hinted it (but it was a hint he would definitely not have given if he wasn't doing it). Then he mentioned it again as if it was much more of a commitment in the last live letter. Mentioning it twice makes it hard to see them going back on it.

I can't imagine he would mention that and then NOT do it. I would have thought it would be a pre-order bonus. Probably wants to announce details during one of the two next live letters when they go through QoL updates. Could probably distribute them via mog-mail. Maybe have it as a quest reward.

I can't see why they wouldn't just send it through mogmail like any other item that comes from SE.

His exact words more or less is that he WANTS to give us all a free fantasia but that he's not sure how they'd do it yet, so it's probably that we're getting one just not how we'd get one yet.

That would only work out for the people who are already in DT. The point of the fantasia is not to reward DT users but to resolve any unwanted side effects of the graphical update for all existing characters. It needs to be delivered via a method that does not care about story progress.
