The Hardened Heart [SB Tank Role] FAILS

I've done this a few times and on Very Easy it fails the same every time.
At about the point of the second stack up with the caster, I get hit with the add and killed.
I've got aggro on the add, Was I killed by friendly fire? [Which I have never seen in the game before]. or something else. I have watched a video of the whole fight and of course this did dnot happen? Help? Point to a video that shows issue?

What particular add did you die to? You do not take damage by allies so putting enemies in blue AOEs is heavily recommended.

Wave 1 is winged enemies, drag them into the circle.

Wave 2 is Mindflayers. Stack with caster, later use Interject to interrupt the glowing action cast. Caster comes to you for next stack. Follows up with red non-shareable circle AOEs (spread out).

Wave 3 spawns slimes. Pick them up and focus them down first as they are a DPS check. [This is what I assume kills you.] If they finish the cast you likely wipe. Ardbert does his half so stick to your bit. Single target combo recommended.

Wave 4 is horned demons. Dodge the chessboard pattern AOE and drag them inside both the bard's and blackmage's limitbreaks.

Wave 5 is hellhounds. Interrupt the tether aimed at your healer by standing inbetween. Keep your HP high.

Wave 6 is Manticore. Simply DPS it down. Keep your HP up or simply dodge his frontal claw swipe by moving sideways (no castbar, but physical tell).

Kill boss. Don't give up on tank so soon. You simply had to learn new mechanics and/or responsibilities.

The blue aoes don't harm you. Sometimes they can even benefit you and protect/heal you.

If you mean the orange stacks, they hit hard yes. I suggest healing to full with Clemency before it.

Note that one of the adds that tethers to the main enemy starts casting a flashing orange attack. This means it's "interruptable". So use your interrupt on the one that Ardbert isn't on. Your interrupt is that ability with a speech bubble and a "...".

Thanks for details of the fight. I am used to playing tank. Done high level duties as tank. And have solved this before a while ago on another toon.

Oh. the problem of the completely changed skill bar.... Duh.

I'm not using Interject to stop the cast of "Sanctified Dark" of the mind flayer. I had recorded my fail and saw the cast.. Didn't know I had to stop it. Sigh..

You see, a lot of people want to believe that the role quests aren't a serious test of your skill with the role prior to qualifying as a mentor, but actually they just about do the job. If you don't know about interjects, mits, dps too much on a healer and don't esuna, or don't dodge mechanics while doing your rotation on a DPS, they do actually catch you out.
