Please add more variation to leg glamour for male characters.

Right now there isn't much variation in pants, specifically for male characters.

For some armor sets the leg armor changes dramatically for gender. In situations like this it's becoming very noticeable that the female version matches the theme and aesthetic of the set much better than the male version.

Female version is distinct, a NEW piece of glamour that can be used.
Male version is just another pair of long pants.

Some examples taken from Eorzea Collection:

BLU brought a unique look for female characters! These can be used with other glamours, and are easily identifiable as BLU armor!
Male version is simply long pants again. There is very little unique about them, especially when combined with boots.

For BLU please consider other flashy looks for a male magician aesthetic that doesn't use full pants but something closer to the look for female BLU.
Lyney in Genshin Impact is a magician and he does not wear full pants and the set works well for him:




For Dancer, the level 80 set does not match the female version at all, but at least it's a unique look!
This is not ideal, but it's OK - it's a new pair of pants!

But the level 90 DNC set was disappointing. The pants could be replaced with a dozen other armor pieces that are already in the game to achieve effectively the same look.

I'm a little upset that the chest armor is so different, but they are both unique and clearly from the same style armor set - the chest armor difference is ok.

But the pants were extremely disappointing.

When adding something unique and new to a female set, please consider ways it might be included in the male version as well.

I still wish Valentione's set had socks like this, which I drew for Valentione's 2020

In short: It's very disappointing to see leg armor in new sets that looks too similar to existing glamour for male characters, especially when the female version gets to be new and interesting!
Please look for more inspiration when designing leg armor for male characters.
We already have long pants.

Same. I saw the SCH set in the Benchmark and was so excited, it looks so good with shorts!
I already glamour my SCH to use shorts, so having a set designed for it would be great.
Then it quickly sunk in that the preview was on a female character and I probably shouldn't expect anything so unique.

As someone tired of pants being turned into short shorts or skirts on my female character, I'm seconding this proposal. Just let people choose which version of the outfit they want, regardless of their character's actual gender.

Particularly egregious examples now with the new Dawntrail armor reveals today... the pants don't even look like they match the same fabric as the set for Dancer.

Scholar didn't get to keep the shorts that were showcased in the benchmark, even though they are desperately lacking a shorts option still.

And pictomancer is the worst offender, with the top just looking like it was poorly edited to cover their midriff.

Please fix the Dawntrail armor before release, and please check social media - many players are very disappointed with this.
This isn't the pictomancer that players were excited for.

Full agree, I just wish they would allow us to toggle between male/female style of clothes.
I find it extremely frustrating seeing so much cool leg gear like stockings and skirts, only for when I try it on my male Miqo'te they turn into weird looking pants.
I hope gender locked clothes are also a thing of the past, there are some really nice gear but sadly locked to female only a lot of the times.
