The big question is why would you want to play as a werewolf when there are already a ton of cool things to play as that exist within the lore? You're not going to find much that supports werewolves aside from what has already been said in the thread so far. I'm not sure how it is on Mateus, but my character would laugh her ass off if someone claimed to be a werewolf, and then I'd stop RPing with you if you suddenly transformed lmao.

werewolf thing should be absolutely doable, op.
find yourself some good rp friendos, who have no problem suspending their disbelief/lore loyalty for you, and it'll be success.

hmm, yeah, didnt sahagins/leviathan literally turn Captain Madison into some kind of lovecraft-esque davy jones ala disney kind of thing? he seemed oddly non-tempered too in sastasha hm but maybe he was

In the regular version of Sastasha, Madison was either not tempered yet or only freshly tempered, so he was still lucid enough to seem normal, which made him a better servant when he had to go out into the world. By the time Sastasha Hard rolls around, he and his crew have been bombarded with excessive amounts of water aether as a punishment, turning them into monstrosities. Same way the voidsent and sin eaters work, but with water instead of darkness or light.

Well, you can always say you got clapped by the voidsent clown from halloween and got cursed....Probably not a great idea though and not exactly grounded in lore.
    Others said Allagans...
Can always go for Garlemald experimentation...or some weird mad science experiment gone wrong.
    ???

Funny enough this game actually lacks wolves that look like actual wolves and not starved scuffed wolves. It's kinda weird tho, why would someone be so 'muh lore' about it, if you find something really interesting/creative for your char and try to work it into the lore hmm....? I haven't really RP'd in this game because I personally don't like the chatty/instant structure of it, so I don't know what people are particular about.

See people like this. Can't just rp and have fun. Because if you saw my hyur you will be like dsng he is hairy asf and looks sorta like one lol or whatever. I want to rp one I like them. Plus they are fun. And also his hiding it as I said he won't do that shit or force that rp on someone lol. It's not like that at all.

I have art and he used to be a werewolf before I even got on ff.

Can I have him from the Source cursed by shadowkeeper? And somehow come to the first is that better then or should I just go with experiment gone wrong?

When it comes to RP you're going to find a lot of people who view this as a stretch. Even I would feel iffy, admittedly, depending on how it's played out. However, werewolves do exist in Eorzean folklore, and are referenced in the levequest "Choke Hold," which talks about a parody of Twilight (called "Dusk"), and refers to them as Nightwolves. The 2017 All Saints' Wake event also had citizens of Gridania initially fearing an innocent, wandering Lupin as a potentially dangerous "wolfman" rather than viewing him as the completely sentient Spoken that he was.

I think a lot of people forget that the world of Hydaelyn (I'm not callin' that shit Eitherys after 10 years lol) is still very magic-focused, and you really don't have to stretch the idea into extremes like somehow getting cursed in the First, or even being a victim of an Allagan experiment. Mages literally mess with forces they shouldn't be all the time. Polymorphing is a thing, and so is cursing one's self--or one's companion--through the practice of more forbidden magicks. We've fought bosses in Tam Tara and other dungeons who had been transformed due to contact with the void, forbidden magicks, alchemy, dragon's blood, etc... If you want to get creative and keep his lore within the Source, I'd recommend trying to play with those kind of ideas. It could easily lead to more fun, tangible plots too.

Although if you don't like that suggestion, please keep in mind that people still RP with more wild concepts all the time. So while some character backgrounds might be too out there for myself and others to feel comfortable interacting with, there are also just as many people completely cool with such concepts.

I like this too but also no clue how I can get that to work and keeping it within lore . I do like experiment as well I might use.
