Same Issue as everyone else, with a Visa Debit/CC in North America.
Can't use 'traditional' direct CC/Debit payment. Can't use Amazon Pay. WTF is Crysta? It was before my time and seems to be a whole other can of 'wtf' worms to obtain.
Trying to find 'the right' Contact Us button has never been so irritatingly difficult. Square Enix Store does not support the Mog Station Support Branch. The Mog Station Support Branch wants every ounce of your information before you can actually detail a problem. Then, you must wait a minimum of 48 hours for your silly little email to even be seen?
10 Days, Devs. 10 Days during a 30% off Sale, and I can't give you my money.

24 Hours is the difference in keeping your housing situation in this game, after some have spent years trying to obtain your False Scarcity Housing.
So, SE needs to freeze housing demo. Extend the Sale. AND Comp Game Time for every single affected account.
This is the 4th place I've tried to send a message to someone who can do something about the issue. Never have I posted on these forums, until today, for this exact problem.

Just had same issue. Changed banks 2 weeks ago, deleted my old card and tried to enter the new visa debit card, said it didn't exist. I called SQeenix support, was greeted by a CS guy that acted like he really could care less. He said they are having Visa issues, no time approx fix. I will be letting my game go if not fixed before end of May, It's too difficult to pay a company that doesn't seem to want the money.

Having the same issues. I let my subscription elapse a few days or so ago (you still have a forum access for a period of time; I won't be able to reply to anything soon), but now I'm unable to pay for Crysta the way I usually do with with VISA debit payments with the 401 error (all the information is correct, address, numbers ... etc)
Kinda frustrating because VISA was one of the payments that was allowed. I also still haven't pre-ordered Dawntrail yet and was going to do soon on my return. I understand it takes time to collect information and notify affected players over Lodestone, but using time cards does not solve the issue perfectly. For myself, I do not like 60-day game time stretches, so 30-day via Crysta is enough to drop the game for a while without feeling I'm wasting too much game time; I also have issues getting time cards at times as well. To be honest, it does not help that being so close the new expansion release without pre-ordering has me a bit worried about the current state of the issue without notification. Here's hoping this issue gets resolve within the month of May or early June.
I made an account on the forums just to post about having the same problem. Please pause house demolition while working on a fix, at least. It's an unprofessional look having payment processing issues just before the release of Dawntrail. I really wish they'd tested this out properly before rolling it out, considering the amount of people using these very normal payment methods who are now having issues. Hoping for an official statement soon over this matter.

I have a US credit card that I've used without issue for payment for years. Suddenly it's unavailable.
Thankfully amazon pay works but I really don't like using third party payment methods if I don't have to.
I can't buy extra retainers or add the premium companion app, I go through everything and click agree and continue and it just redirects me to the page before, SE needs to acknowledge this, I've used firefox, edge and edge on my phone, so in total 3 browsers, this is not a local issue.
My registered card is a mastercard credit card as well, so it's no isolated to a specific card type.
