Just make BLU forbidden from participating in FATEs and hunts. Just unable to interact with the enemies like when you're too high level for a FATE.
Doing FATEs fast is one of the few things BLU is actually good for, so of course people are going to use it. This event is already slow and tedious because grinding FATEs is painfully boring. It's just a badly designed event all around, but it's hardly players fault for trying to speed up such an annoying process so we can get our rewards and go back to doing content we like.
I also don't understand why joining a party with a BLU isn't a solution here. That is just objectively a very simple and easy solution to the problem if you don't feel like unlocking and leveling BLU for yourself.
Wait for the rush to die down. I would recommend spending this time to level blu and get skills so you can feel the power.
There will most assuredly be other events involving FATEs.
Even before BLU there have been other jobs better at generating enmity than others.
But now we have BLU (and maybe BST soon) and you are aware of it's utility. It'd be foolish to leave that on the table.

I'm still learning to play with a controller, and oh boy, trying to get to a fate, get off my mount, level sync target something and then get a hit on anything before everything is over is really frustrating. I get it, Blu is the way to go, but if you're not there in the first 15 seconds of the fate starting, it's over.
i just hop to dead worlds, go on my tank, turn on my stance, get aggro and then let the blu minions finish it for me.
I think at that point, BLU existed but was still catching up level-wise so it could only be used in the earlier areas.
Ideally yes, but that requires the BLU to wait for a few seconds to let people tag things and claim them. Instead they seem to just swoop in, use an AOE skill to claim everything themselves and then kill it before anyone else can get a hit in.However, if you claim a FATE mob (its name turns red if you claimed it and purple if someone else did) you get full credit for the kill no matter what. It usually only takes a few claimed mobs to get gold. Any job with an instant attack or AoE would be preferable, just try to claim stuff and pull it into the BLU death zone.
