SEA players and resident of US/EU, how are you paying subs right now after the change

Doing a bit of digging online revealed this article published just yesterday, which revealed apparently a player on Reddit contacted SE's support line and the SE rep acknowledged that they are looking into the issue.

According to that article, it appears to be a problem with the new payment vendor blocking certain types of payment cards which they shouldn't be (both Visa debit and credit cards, a 'Discover' card, and apparently Mastercards issued by a certain UK bank), so if true, means that hopefully a fix is in the future, and that this is an actual fault and not by design. But I have no idea at how accurate this article is.

So all we can do is sit tight and wait I guess.

It sucks because my sub will expire literally a week after DT release...so...yeah, thanks SE, much hype for DT.
I hope they fix their horrible system because I'm tired of the stress, they 5head new ways to screw their customers rather than making things easier.

We should be making CHAOS over this guys... seriously. Its stressing me the hell out. I've preordered Dawntrail and I am excited for it, and without any official acknowledgement of this getting fixed, I have /extremely/ very little hope it ever will be and I'll be forced to quit the game.

That article is wrong. The person on reddit didn't say anything about Square Enix looking into it at all. They SE rep said to try a bunch of USELESS steps.

And unless we raise a stink about this, it won't get fixed, ever. SE are notorious about sticking their head into the sand over payment issues.

I don't care if I have to bump this hourly until we get a response. Its Monday in Japan now. There should be an official post acknowledging the issue already.

All the silence does is make me think NOTHING is being done and they have no clue.

Yeah, an official lodestone post is the least they should do. That said, it is still important to contact the support directly imo. They might just give standard advice, but then bother them further when none of this helped. This is on the publisher, not the devs to solve it, because the publisher is the one who messed it up. The community managers from the dev team can forward it when they see this thread, but imo official support tickets give a better impression of the scope of this issue and how many people are affected. It's good there is an article though, press reports might add a little bit of extra pressure.

For those who have not heard there are recent changes in payment system by SE.

For players whose regions are not supported, back in the day you can put a US address and still be able to use your debit/credit card, buy crystal or time card.

With the recent change, this is not option given to put your country and not able to use your credit card,it seems buying crystal also gave you an error i2501 and some people also cannot use paypal or even timecards (yes it seems it still ask for address). Any work around for this or anyone have ever tried to make a payment.

Otherwise it is such a shame that loyal paying customers cannot even play anymore. IS it good bye Dawntrail and FF14?
