Preparing for Dawntrail

As the expansion is getting closer, I thought it would be nice to know what is everyone doing to prepare for it. Are you farming glamours for the new jobs, forming plans to make gil, leveling, gearing up, designing a new appearance for your character or capping various currencies? Share your best tips!

I've started to rummage through my glamour dresser to cut down the number of items and make space for new ones. My next plan is to farm some aetherpool in PotD to get fast access to glowing weapons for the new jobs. For crafters I thought I'd stock up on collectables so I can turn them in for quick xp and scrips.

To be honest, beyond making sure have a few jobs 'maxed out' (in terms of weapons/armor etc)ready for the new MSQ content I haven't really given it much thought.

Glamour dresser is an easy way to clear inventory space for sure.

Developing plans for Pictomancer glamour for each zone that we’ve had revealed to us, while at the same time taking into consideration that new items might work better as glams in the New World and if Pictomancer gameplay ends up not being my style then I’ll be falling back to RDM which requires a whole different aesthetic.

Looking good yet thematically appropriate in MSQ cutscenes is the true start(?) game.

I'm new to this game, but absolutely loving it. I wanted to unlock WHM asap, and ended up not getting it until LV39. There's so much to do! XD It's great, and I've not even started crafting yet! So, I'll probably be standing there watching the rush with a goofy grin, and a slightly spaced-out look.

Only things I am doing to prep is bothering to get my sam gear upgraded in case I decide to main switch to that. I've got my 80 gear sets for pic and vpr done, but I definitely cannot be assed to get a 660 scouting set done between now and then since I don't want to run 11 of each alliance raid or whatever. When we're like, a week away from launch I will make sure to cap poetics and knock out a cat book but not turn it in. Guess I should also craft level 86 or level 88 gear, will think about it.

Finish TOP then get the tomestone from Criterion if possible. If not, oh well.

Cleaning out my retainer inventory to make room for the new crafting mats I will just immediately fill it up with again

I'll be clearing out my retainers' inventories in preparation for new crafting mats once we're closer to launch (just in case I need something before then). Other than that, just the usual - mount farms and maps, mostly.
