FF 16 cross over event... A HUGE DISPOINTMENT

I was extremely excited for the FF 16 event til I did it... it was sooo short! The way YoshyP hyped this event had Mr thinking this was a full pledge event.. but all we got was a few dialog, ifrit, a little more dialog and done.. took like 20mins. This event was a joke and felt lazy AF. My rating for this event is 2 out of 5..below average. Ifrit was fun, the story wasn't interesting and was extremely short... do better YoshyP

Thank God the story wasn't long. I was so bored skipping dialogue and cutscenes. The fight was somewhat interesting with a bit of iframing introduced - hopefully a feature we're gonna see sometime in the future

I will not be surprised if WAR mains will clamor should other tanks get it. All the sodium chloride emanating from the spoiled children of Eorzea then they'll get buffed through the roof, once again.

What even is a full fledged event in your eyes in this game? Some dialogue and more dialogue describes 90% of events, throw a solo duty or FATE in and that's the remaining 10%. It's about on par with other ff crossover events, and frankly, idk what got you so hyped thinking it'd be next gen different or something.

I preferred the FFXV event to this one. It had more stuff to do. There was an open world FATE you could run a few times to get all the orchestrion rolls, as well as a unique solo instance boss battle with a demon in East Shroud, and then finally the awesome battle against Garuda where you could use the Warp Strike. The dodge action they gave us in the FFXVI Ifrit battle was fun, but I think the Warp Strike's utility was more satisfying.

I think the story scenes in the FFXV event were more fun too, like how Cid is involved, you have the little campfire scene in the forest, having Garuda from Noctis's home world be a conduit that ends up being the solution to him getting back. As someone who still hasn't played either FFXV or FFXVI yet, the FFXV crossover story made more sense to me and was more interesting. I found the FFXVI crossover dialogue pretty boring, and him turning into Ifrit to beat up the other Ifrit is just nonsense with no explanation. Also, I didn't know that Clive was responsible for Joshua's death. Seems they spoiled the story of the game..??

It was cool that they were able to get the producer of FFXVI to do a cameo appearance though. I wonder if he plays FFXIV. Someone should tell him about the expanded free trial which you can play through the entirety of A Realm Reborn and the award-winning Heavensward, and thrilling Stormblood expansions up to level 70 for free with no restrictions on playtime.

Well said! I completely agree with you. I like to do activities to earn the rewards.. they could've made ifrit farmable to get some of the scrolls instead they put them in the Gold Saucer...

It was pretty much on par with the XV event, which is what I was expecting.

There are no shortage of posts on this forum complaining about the FF15, FF16, or Yokai Watch events among other things. People forget one key thing: this is Final Fantasy XIV by Square Enix. You can't expect Blizzard levels of content in this game.

Agreed. Apart from the Fall Guys, Yokai Watch, Garo, Dragon Quest, or Monster Hunter events, FFXIV has always been about getting your gear quickly so you can go back to your idle spot and play other games. Especially considering that this is a cameo for another Final Fantasy game. I mean, how much material could they possibly be working with? This isn't the same company that made FF1 through 10. Did anything notable even come from FF16 besides how badly it impacted Endwalker? Do we really need to see more from Clive of all people?
