    DawnTrail hasn't shown me anything to be excited about.

    Graphics update is w/e cause I am not hard to please when it comes to that, I care about the quality of the Gameplay. So far? I see DawnTrail giving Quantity, more of the same of what we gotten before which gets a big " mehh " from me.

    What would really be a big plus? is what they will do with what I will use to do said Content with which is obviously " Job Design " and so far? nothing tells me nor shows me that it is moving away from the bland boring canned of unseasoned Job gameplay that we got in Endwalker... I hope to be wrong with DawnTrail I really do... but I am self-aware enough to know how much I been coping for more flavorful Job gameplay that feels an ounce more satisfying to actually appreciate Content? vs just sleeping through everything

    - Keep the Jobs fun? and all content becomes more Fun
    - Keep Jobs bland & boring? and all content becomes less Fun

    That I think is a problem with the speed. The paint is designed to delay following the path the brush draws the farther away from the brush it gets, to get that good swooshy paint trail effect. But! Since they decided to do a slow mo shot, they really only slowed down her body and not every system going on there, which is why the paint looks more like a flag right up until her animations speed up again and turns it into a proper streak.

    From what we've seen from the few actual gameplay shots of PIC, the trails are going to be very long and florishy.

    Yeah there is definitely a strong sense of “inertia” so to speak with the community right now

    The collective community hasn’t been excited about the game since like 6.0 which is near 3 years ago at this point and a large part of the community has had large game altering grievances for nigh on 5

    What’s there really to be excited about for what appears to be a “stage setter” expansion when we have been in the “bubbling along not actively terrible but not great” inertia stage for 3 years now, especially since the benchmark didn’t land with a lot of people (healers what a surprise) and we have functionally nothing else even though launch is 2 months away

    Slower or faster, pictomanser's animations so far were all low poly cartoon versions of existing skills which, personally, looks very off to me.

    I haven't pre-ordered and might not at all. I don't feel the same urgency to jump back into it compared to ShB -> EW. I think a big part of it was just how much post-EW affected my motivation with how much of a let down it was. I'm hoping that they divert course with DT.

    The graphics update kinda ruined the hype for me ,
    It's not fun knowing your character will look worse in dawntrail.
    (it's a downgrade not upgrade in my case)

    Their goal at this point is just to do as little as possible and milk what they can to fund other projects because Square as a whole keeps making terrible decisions and doesn't have many other games that are profitable enough. The story will go nowhere, and job changes will amount to simplifying and homogenizing(they already said DRG's getting "reworked") with new abilities just being visual updates to old ones.

    It wouldn't matter too much because their workflow bottleneck has always been, "can't find people with mmo experience who speak Japanese" and not money?

    I feel like this is probably an extremely unpopular opinion here but I'm actually more hype about the graphics update than anything else lol

    Like some things are definitely wonky about it but in general it looks leagues better and I already have a good starting point for a fantasia when the expansion is out

    Not sure how I feel about the story? Going back to adventuring and exploring instead of saving the world for the umpteenth time sounds fun but I'm not sure how they'll pull that off, so I'd say I'm at best mildly curious about it. I do like the characters we've met so far but like... That's all two of them plus the main cast I already knew and loved lol

    So I dunno. We'll see.
