Obviously it was sarcastic, and my point is that such a filter would be worked around so fast that there would be no perceptible improvement.

The problem is, with those filters/regexes you would only get the advertisement spammers. But banning them will not really improve anything. Because you can spawn new advertisement accounts without any costs. A trial account is enough to do that.

The regex would catch new accounts as soon as they're spammed. It's not like the regex evaporates as soon as it matches text.

The spammers still would do that, unfortunately. Even if they could spam only one time. :/
Very often. I know already 7 people who got their Discord accounts stolen due some very primitve phishing attempts. I did not imagine, that it is possible, that someone falls into that. But it happens. :/
Cheers

I've heard of at least 3 happening in the past week just on Discord. It happens regularly on 14 if we look at how many people were falling for the "gil giveaway" scams lol.The spammers still would do that, unfortunately. Even if they could spam only one time. :/

Dunno how it happens either but people are just gullible I guess.

You can automate everything in the process: account creation, solving the starter quests, running to the aetherite and then spam the text. And if you ban this account then 5 minutes later the next account will be ready. Banning the spam accounts is a very low hanging fruit. But it will not change anything.

It's simple to adapt the regex to match new RMT string permutations. All SE has to do is make it a plain old text file that's read by the server every few minutes to keep the regex fresh and up to date.
Instead of making baseless accusations of ineffectiveness or potential for abuse, how about offer up suggestions or prove that what I submitted in the OP won't work.
