Crafting from retainer's inventory

I don't understand you, why can't you put materials in retainer inv? That is what they are for

It's for crafting without removing items from retainer inventory.

Yeah I imagine there are probably some tricky backend database and code tweaks needed depending on how they have things set up. But if it's possible, I'd love to see this.

I would love to see this, even if it's got location limits. Same with crafting from the Chocobo inventory. It would be a huge QoL improvement for crafters.

I imagine it's due to bad code. Lots of game allow you to craft directly from bank, but my guess is there is bad code that's preventing them from doing it or increasing the cost of implementation past the point of doing it. A lot of the issues around inventory are probably due to really bad inventory management code.
