Yoshida gives update on the benchmark/character creator

I'm very hopeful about the Benchmark update. The changes should address my main concerns with how my character looks in DT. I accept (and expect) small changes to my character given what's be completed by the devs. But that's why we're getting a fantasia, after all!

However, the feeling of sadness I had has been replaced with hope. I'm very excited to see what these changes bring!

This brought hope back that I'll be able to recognize my character in DT after all. And also that I was not crazy for thinking the mouth was all wrong and completely different.

I'll reserve judgement until after it's updated. Face 4 au ra was particularly badly botched, and it'd be hard to believe it was botched by accident, but who knows, no use complaining until I see the update.

I'm glad that there has been a response, but I am still a bit worried that it only addressed half of the complaints. To be fair the issues he addressed are the ones that effect the vast majority of players, as well as the issues where there is an objective answer. Basically "Hey the character creator isn't always the best, and a few technical issues slipped through, thanks for pointing them out we'll get to work.

What wasn't addressed however are the arguably more important issues, the smaller fangs for moon cats, the nose smudges for hellsguard, and a few others. Those are the kinds of issues where it's not technical it is artistic, and no fantasia will bring back the smudge if they don't make it an option.

I agree, I'm also a little bit concerned at the lack of mention of the missing upper lip on lalafell but I'll try to stay positive. After all, he wouldn't be able to include everything in just one post. I believe the things that are mentioned are just the biggest examples and they are actively gathering more and more feedback. Let's try to stay hopeful for now

Obviously nobody can say for sure until the updated benchmark is released, but I expect things like the lightened Hellsguard smudges (and smudgy Viera eyeliner for another example) to be included under this part:

An issue with unimplemented high-resolution textures, including those for certain playable races.

The same might apply to the nerfed Keeper fangs and the mouth scaling issue that was mentioned. I don't know if it'll address the smoothened-out fangs altogether or if that is the new intentional direction they elected to take, but it will very likely at least fix the near fangless female face 3/mouth 4 combo. So, don't lose hope just yet!

I'm really really glad to see they are responding to player feedback. I'll be keeping my hopes up that the improvements they are working on will fix most, if not all, of the issues I had with the new characters.

Great to hear, and I'm excited to see what they do going forward. I'm really happy to see a statement and hope that as many of the things as possible pointed out in the various threads can be fixed.

TLDR:
