TLDR:

- Lighting is broken in the CC, they are fixing it and will update the benchmark
- Face sculpts "broken" with the improper lighting
- Specifically calls out lips as being bugged
- "Lifeless" eyes result of lack of shaders in the character creator on the benchmark, will be fixed with the updated benchmark
- Skin textures look bad because of lack of shaders on character creator
- Common issues / complaints such as neck seam being fixed
- Some misc. stuff
- They are actively monitoring feedback and will continue to work on the characters until DT release
- He is sorry for inciting a panic lmao

This is fantastic news! I do still hope they continue to look over feedback in case of things they miss, but I'm super thankful to hear this update from them. Thank you--especially the art team in this case--for your hard work.

I doubt it. Yoshida says a lot of the issues that people have are a result of them not implementing the shaders in the benchmark properly, while they are implemented internally, and a lot of the character faces and textures are outdated and have already been changed to reflect what people are more used to. Seems the only real things they are working to fix right now are some visual oddities like the neck seam or hair being a little weird.

Please try to keep an open heart. It's a good thing that we've actually received a timely response from Square outlining that they've acknowledged this. Still, continue to give your feedback. I just hope this helps everyone stay more calm about it. Morale is important in these matters. They're also likely bothering with a second benchmark update in the first place to get more feedback after their fixes are shown.

This is extremely unlikely to happen, as they would certainly not prioritize a benchmark over the full game release.
