FINAL FANTASY XIV v2 in spanish & italian too, please!

We, Spanish and Italian, we deserve to play the game in our native language. Unfortunately, Square Enix is failing us again and again with his decision to take their titles without translation into our language. As a fan of Final Fantasy, I hope that this custom is broken and Square-Enix start bringing all the games also translated into Spanish and Italian. We already had to resign with Final Fantasy XI. Hopefully translated version 2 comes because the Spanish and Italian community deserve to play in our language. Square-Enix maintains that this decision will be as if we were treated like second class players.

I don't think Italian is spoken 'round the world enough to make that worthwhile, but I have always been surprised at their neglect toward Spanish.

No, you don't.

No one "deserves" to have any game in their own language. Language support is based solely on how much money they can expect to earn by supporting the language. If the amount of players who refuse to get the game if it isn't available in Italian leads to a bigger loss than the cost of adding Italian language support, you might get it. If not, there is no reason for SE to do it.

You're not treated as second class citizens any more than any of the other unsupported european languages. What about the polish, the swedish, and the russians? Don't they deserve to have the game in their own language just as much as you do?

Very true, if its gonna cost SE more money to make 14 have even more languages like spanish, itialian, russian,etc then they will get back and profit if it is added your hopes will never be met. SE like any other company runs a business to make money not to lose money. Simple fact about life and economics.

Doesn't mean any of them deserve it in Spanish. I'm sure SE knows how many spanish speaking people there is in the world. If they deem it profitable, they will probably do it. You also have to consider how many potential customers there are in those countries.

How do you know most of the community won't play it in English, anyway? You don't exactly need to know a lot of English to read the user interface, and I'm sure you spanish speaking people will stick to your own in-game communities anyway, where the people you play with will be chatting in spanish.

I remember a long time ago saying if there enough support they will make a Spanish version. There a lot of Spanish people joining ffxiv i remember when in ffxi they start showing up they was even endgame linkshell who was all spanish.

So i don't see why not as long as there enough support they would do it so keep this topic alive and keep liking it

Hi Yaran,

I recall that SE was looking to hire both Spanish/English and Italian/English staff in their Europe office. (may not be specific to game localization).

I know that their may be qualified individuals, but I don't know how many are willing to relocate to SE EU out of their own pocket.

There may be other circumstances why SE does not release a version as-is. I.e. releasing a Mandarin version.
