7.0 Graphics Update - Au Ra Xaela Fem Face 4 Feedback

First of all, I don't like them, I see many unnecessary changes in there, and they are NOT improvements. I will list some of the biggest unnecessary changes here and hope the DEVs can read this and then rethink.



Here is my character, female Xaela, face type 4, eye shape type 2, mouth type 2. (Cause I need to talk about these changes.)



I changed hair style to see all the changes better and removed all makeup and features.




1.The scale, particularly this part.



Xaele face 4 has very sharp scales all round the face, even her horns are sharp and pointy, I see no reason to make this change, the old one is better.


2.The eye



I marked the unnecessary changes on the pic, all these changes make my character look like someone else, with some familiarity, but someone else.
I checked character creation, and all other eye shapes got this eyeliner change, which greatly eliminates the differences between eye shape options.

3. The lips



After the change, that lower lip looks like when you use the lipstick and the whole thing goes outside, looks flat and thick.

All these changes, I don't see the reason. They said we are gonna have a graphics update, but all I can see is my character become someone else.
I don't need a fantasia to change my character's face and embrace the new one, I just want my character's face to still look the same.

Great comparisons. It's when they're put side and side like this that I get the sense that just a few small changes would restore Face 4 to its previous style. Of course, the dimples have to go as well.

My Au Ra became prob my fav character and love taking pics of her. But now she's easily the worst ;-; I did a little edit of the pupils to make them smaller and adjusted the saturation of the scales and horn. This simple change for me was enough to love her again. They really need to overhaul the character creator though with sliders or just way more options.

I agree- there have been way too many changes that have ruined the distinct look of face 4. All the angular and sharp characteristics that were the unique aspect of the face have been rounded out in a displeasing way. The face overall looks as though it went through an allergic reaction or plastic surgery. Cheeks are puffy, chin sticks out oddly, mouth protrudes out, eyes and lips are very noticeably different, scales look lumpy, skin tones have been messed up.

I was also hoping for my character to look the same after the graphics update, of course there was likely going to be some degree of difference especially with lighting. But there are some major facial structure changes here that are way too radical. When I go to character creation, and even in the benchmark itself- what is on the screen is not my character that I've spent countless hours with. It is a completely different character. I am not a fan.

Can't add anything that has not already been said (big pupil, round scales where it was sharp before, mouth 4 being far more plumpy than before, dimples that gives a rounder face, etc).
I could go with a swap to mouth 3 and wait for the habit to kick in, but that's sad. This face was sharp and a bit smug, that was what I liked about it, others are too round and "cute" for my taste.
I really hope they fix that. Hopefully the very detailed post about it on JP Forum come to their eyes.

Same problem here. Face 4, mouth 3 but with eyes 3.





A complete type change. The face looks much softer in the benchmark, which completely takes away the soul of the original face 4. I don't have to say much more about the mouth, that's the worst part. They have turned the appearance from cool to cute. In a nutshell, my WoL is ruined.

Just throwing my hat in for the face 4 specific thread, honestly the worst is the new dimples. This was the only face that wasn't overly cute in some way, and now it's just like the rest which is a big bummer. I've played her for eight years and now she looks completely different. She looks okay if her face is totally shadowed but the second there's any light the dimples and the rounded cheeks and the pouty lips just take away everything about her. She's supposed to be sharp looking to match with her being a DRK, BLM, and RPR.

Today the new 7.0 benchmark was released, I don't see any improvement in the latest version, all the problems, they're still there, my Aura looks terrible.
