It doesn't seem like it's coming from a place of concern. It just seems like an excuse to make a "screw Square Enix, am I right guys?" thread and get a bunch of virtual high fives.

Since I was personally unhappy with how my character turned out, I saw a fair number of complaints on twitter and reddit. There have also been a few articles from gaming sites about how the graphical updates wasn't wholly positive.

That being said there are a lot of characters that turned out well. I think that's because they aren't really finished yet, and have spent more time on some faces/combinations than others. I personally hope they have more updates coming, as the benchmark faq did say it's a work in progress.

If you are posting in a thread where people are expressing their concern with your own delight I'm not sure why you would expect a positive response. I get the desire to try to either make people feel better or refute how people feel about the changes, but that's only going to make people feel worse.

That doesn't matter- OP is objectively correct here

It's a fact that CBU3 said they weren't going to make characters look different, and it's a fact that there are several faces that have had their meshes changed in some way

That said, a lot of it is probably due to haphazard use of Subdivision smoothing out detail

They didn't say they weren't going to make them look different. They said they were going to try and keep them from looking as different as possible.

This is why hyperbole is stupid and why the title should have avoided calling an extremely subjective matter "objective" because instead of actually leaving feedback, we are now going to get in to a 10 page argument about whose hyperbole is better.

There are a lot of legitimate concerns and grievances and feedback is good and can only help everyone be happy with their characters. It's a shame we have to waste that energy arguing semantics.

This isn't feedback. This isn't constructive criticism. This just sounds like entitled whining. Granted, I have not read any of your other posts in regards to the matter. I am talking about this one specifically and other rants of the same cloth.

Fact of the matter is you have no choice but to wait until launch, and even then it's not like this is going to be hot fixed in an emergency update. We won't see any updates to this until 7.1 at best, or around seven months, and that's low balling it. The dev team is very likely going to be addressing the fundamental technical setbacks and gameplay issues based on high duty feedback from trusted savage raiders as their first and foremost priority. This is even more true if they make substantial changes. Buckle up.

This graphical update is cosmetic. I understand and relate to emotional attachment to one's own character, as does the dev team. But at the end of the day, that's what it is. It's fine to leave feedback, it's fine to express criticism, but be an adult about it.

Many players have strong and legitimate concerns about these updates and are able to express themselves as adults without sounding like they are owed something.

Based on OP's quotes, they literally did.

Even if that minor change to the phrasing was the case, it still means they didn't follow through, as- like I said- there are literal changes to certain facial features on meshes.

They said "overall appearance of player characters will be altered as little as possible."

"As little as possible" quite literally means still altered to some degree.

If that weren't the case there would be no point in handing out a free fantasia to everyone.

I'm not certain on the timeline- do you happen to know the order in which the fantasia quote and OP's quotes happened?

I am referencing Yoshida's JP fanfest quote where the free fantasia was announced, which is more recent by over two years.

This is the problem with throwing the word "objective" around like this.
