Watching Coliseum battles - Can i have it?

I was just questing around Ul'dah today when i completed a quest revolving around the Coliseum. I noticed for the first time that you can look down into the 'battle grounds' from up high, but no one is ever fighting anything down below. Neither has anything been done with the Coliseum since launch. So i have a suggestion for 2.0

Would it be possible to section off this part of Ul'dah as a separate zone? Then allow players to enter the Coliseum to fight one on one or party battles, epic battles of all kinds. make a content out of it. Then allow players to somehow watch the fights going on from the stands? I'd love to just take a seat and watch epic battles going on down there.

I suppose the first hitch would be how to address waiting times for participants, but there are plenty of game-play options. Could the spectators somehow aid or inflict damage to the combatants? Or maybe that wouldn't be allowed. Could full on PvP tournament brackets exist where fellow adventurers could make teams with their friends and battle other teams for glorious prizes? Again, while everyone watches above. imagine two teams of the realms strongest going at in an epic finals match, or a group of 8 - 24 taking on some kind of Behemoth type monster while fifty other players are cheering and jeering from overhead.

This would definately love to watch some Arena type battles from the stands. Cheer and maybe heckle the fighters. Also some emotes for thumbsup (that don't assume agreement) and thumbs down would be fun too.

Same with Chocobo racing and a Opera Theater folks can particpate in or watch.

I think that would be cool, but like, people could make that into a huge scam.

I may be wrong, but I remember something about after 2.0 we will be able to enter as combatants ourselves and or bet on matches and fights.. as a PvP setup. Also mentioned a couple different PvP scenarios to go along with this one. Not sure if this is true and if so when exactly.

I love the idea of spectating battles or competitions! To sit your character at the stands and cheer, shout, or just enjoy some battles. Some role playing elements is always cool IMO.

i wish they can make like an In-Game video displaying ppl who are currently fighting in the arena... that would be super awesome.
