7.0 Graphics Update - Male Viera Face 1 (dark nose facial feature)

EDIT 2 (release of DT): Upon DT release the same issue persists that was present in benchmark 1.1 and viera with dark skin (primarly Rava since Veena skin tones cannot get this dark) still suffer the lighter brown nose instead of the blackened nose. Lighter to mid tone viera (both Rava and Veena) have been fixed and receive a dark nose the same way they did prior to the graphics update. I am hopeful that the issue can be fixed for the rest of us with really dark skin too!

EDIT 1 (release of benchmark 1.1): The facial feature is still not working as intended, however as of the benchmark 1.1 version it is only the dark skinned rava that do not get the dark nose. The light skinned viera have been fixed. So my issue still stands as I am playing a dark skinned viera.

Okay so! I was loading my characters into the benchmark and discovered that the dark nose facial feature just... does not work as intended... at all. Especially compared to how things used to look!

All pictures taken with the same viera and skin tone selection to showcase the current Endwalker look and the new Dawntrail benchmark look.

These are pictures from how the bunny noses look on a male viera face 1 currently:

You can clearly see the darkened nose on both the lighter and darker skinned viera.


However now in the DT benchmark this is what the noses look like!

On the light skinned viera there is barely any difference anymore, you can just slightly see the darker nose. And on the darker skinned Viera you cannot see the nose getting darker at all! In fact it appears the nose now gets slightly lighter when you activate the dark nose facial feature.

This is especially noticable on one of the darkest skintones, where the nose instead of getting darker will just turn this weird vibrant brown.

Current look as reference, even on a really dark skin tone you can clearly see the darker nose, even if it isn't as intense as on the light skin.

I really love the dark nose on face 1, it's the reason I picked it in the first place! It's really cute and a crucial part of my character's look. And since I play a dark skinned viera I just don't have access to it at all anymore, it just turns this weird brown instead.
I know it's a minor thing, but I really hope the dark nose facial feature can be restored to what it used to be!

The texture for a facial feature this important not getting fixed in 1.1 is... unfortunate, at best. :/

actually let me add the icon for the facial feature as well: (i am sorry the icon in isolation looks very silly)
considering that the icon still clearly shows the old dark nose, it is slightly disappointing it doesn't actually do what it says it does anymore

Okay, so I'm not going crazy. I have a dark skinned Viera with face 1 too, and I was so confused where the shadow went. I thought the feature was broken/inverted, since the nose was actually darker when it was toggled off. Was hoping it'd be fixed in the update but, here's to hoping the full expansion gets it right...

Update! It does appear that the 1.1 benchmark has fixed some of the nose issue, however only on lighter to mid tone viera skin. Dark skinned rava especially still struggle with the same bright brown nose as before. Therefore my own viera is still affected by this as I play a dark skinned Rava.

Glad to see someone else drawing attention to darker skinned face 1. The new benchmark is an improvement from the first rendition, but I'm still disappointed by some key changes to M-Viera face 1.

1. The eyelids being weirdly prominent (3),
2. The nose (5) seems a different shape (taller/pointier) with the intense highlight,
3. Nerfed nose smudge
4. Pointier chin and no cleft (3)
5. Lighter eyebrows

I am glad other people are joining in on my thread and posting their wish for this to be fixed! I hope us dark nosed bunny boys can get our proper nose back soon

Bumping this as well. My poor friend's Viera has a dark grey-toned skin and the new nose smudge looks terrible on him. All weird reddish brown instead of just darkening the skintone like before update.
