opt in/out of FSR 1.0 sharpening

It would nice be to have the freedom of choice to have lower sharpening effect, or even without any sharpening effect when you enable fsr, namely a toggle/slider, it looks really nasty for me personally.

I really wanted to like fsr with some freebie performance but this leaves a really bad impression on me.

    Image slider for comparison

The difference may not jump out instantly to you with it, but if u zoom in to the windmill building on the right of the character, the sharpening effect is specially pronounced there.

If you set FSR to 100% then it is effectively disabled. And maybe it is not possible to remove the sharpening effect if FSR is not at 100%. FSR had always very aggressive sharpening.

I am aware of it but I want to have some performances gain albeit very minimal, and the freedom of choices is always welcome.

Using FSR 1.0 in 2024 when FSR 3 already exists is cringe.

There is a way around it, but its quite annoying. By using DLSS unlocker into tricking the game that DLSS is available on AMD which then forwards the API calls to FSR 2 or XeSS. This works for a lot of games, but who knows if it would for FFXIV. This is because DLSS dll has IsSupported call game engines check, but its possible some games detect nVidia/AMD directly.

Generally this way sharpening is not used so need reshade filter to add it back.

FSR 3 works only with DirectX 12 on PC ATM. So there are no supported(!) ways to make it work on a DirectX 11 engine. There is a very special FSR 2 version for DirectX 11. But i do not know how old it is and whether it is still available or not. AMD never opened it.

But maybe someone patches DXVK or so and integrates FSR into it. Another way could be CyberFSR.
