Or just get a token which is even easier. If you're trying to share accounts (which it sounds like the OP is) you're not even supposed to be doing that, based on the ToS/EULA, even if it's family/friends.

Otherwise getting locked out isn't a problem just because "5 people are logging in from the same IP" like i said, excluding me there's 2 other people in this house who gets onto XIV which makes it 3 total people playing at once sometimes and we never get locked out without a token, so the issue is likely the sharing which is what SE is going after rather than the IP/machine changes.

I hate using tokens. I disabled mine a few months after getting it for FF11. With the frequent client crashes i have in ff14, it would be even more annoying to use it every time i have to log in again, not to mention, I'm good at losing small things like that.

If they offered a token app for mobile phones, it'd be better, I guess. I mean, even blizzard offer those.

And I'm pretty sure the OP said something about having 5 different accounts. Don't see what would be illegal about that.

You can link it to multiple FFXIV/POL accounts, but only to one SE account. Ergo anything linked to your SE account is linked to the same token, and once you unlink it, the token's done - there's no reusing it.

Please tell me where it says it's a violation of the ToS/EULA. Because I've read it, and it's not there. A husband/wife can't share the same account? My 8 and 9 year old daughters need to figure out how to pay for ffxiv? That's absolutely absurd. And even with the friend, it's not account sharing, each person has their own ffxiv account, which all roll up to my square enix account, which has my billing information.

Holy_Dragoon: Yes, that's the first thing I tried, and it didn't work. Then I tried it another 4-5 times with no success. My complaint wasn't getting locked out, it was the fact that the restoration of the account process doesn't work.

While I agree that this rule is rather silly, it is in there:
The sharing or lending of account or login information (such as your Square Enix ID and password) to another player is strictly prohibited by the FINAL FANTASY XIV User Agreement. Sharing or lending your account may cause you to unexpectedly lose access to your account to a third party.
They're not going to do anything about it if you do, though. It's just there so they can throw their hands in the air and say "we told you not to do that" if someone gets their account stolen. For the purposes of this thread though, saying that you shouldn't be sharing an account in the family is a pretty silly argument.

Granted, I don't think this is technically the ToS or EULA.

The question is though does said people have access to his SE account now say if husband/wife gave id and password for their account to husband/wife that would be in violation of TOS or EULA

or I should say it would be like me giving you my login information and letting you play or create a char on there

At that point then, I would be submitting a ticket. That sounds like a bug in their intended system. See if you can manage to get a live-chat with them to fix your account up. I had to do that once to get my account restored for FFXI after a long hiatus.
