They asked if anyone thought they looked like the same character. I said yes. Please explain where in that sentence I said their opinion is wrong.
Where did I say "all" in my statement?It's.. not. Literally the all character models had changes. Some race and face combination fares better, while some others looked like the person handling the rework doesn't even look at the original as reference or something. A lot of unnecessary changes were introduced. A change in eye texture or lips shape is not about lighting and shaders.
No cake for anyone until everything is fixed!
Yes, I also feel this is the same character with more HD textures and different lighting. There may be differences but not enough for me to say that isn't the same person. =/ I know it's not what you wanted to hear but I would be lying otherwise. I also notice my character has some minor differences but nothing so big it would make me think it's not her anymore. If you need any evidence as to what exactly has changed for some people, look at these before/after sliders on this elezen:

We're not talking about lighting here, we're talking about pretty big face reworks, including shape changes to eyes, lips, expression and nose on top of face shape. This is a big, big difference when you combine everything. Can you honestly look at these and say they're the same character? This goes way beyond textures and lighting.
I already tried sending pictures of other peoples characters to friends who don't play and didn't give them any context and they didn't pick up they were different characters either. I tried to trick them into just believing they were two screenshots of the same character without even mentioning a graphics update taking place and they just bought it.
Yeah no. Sorry. I'm not compromising with anyone for this, lmao.

I notice a lot of people have been using "Compromise" to mean "I get what I want but you don't get what you want"
Compromise in this scenario is rolling out the update for gear/hair/environments, but delaying the update to facial models, not "You all just gotta deal with it, sorry." That is, by definition, not a compromise.
Well let me clarify what compromise in this post means so we're clear. We wanted a graphics update and its happening, but some things may look different, and we need to take the pros and deal with the cons while providing feedback on what to work on. I'm not happy about some things, but they are so, so minor in comparison to the overall improvement.I notice a lot of people have been using "Compromise" to mean "I get what I want but you don't get what you want"

Here is something I don't like, I agree they nerfed my moon Miqos fangs. But its okay, its been made known here, and despite that, I am still ready to go forward into dawntrail and accept this compromise. Hopefully they see this feedback and fix it, but I am ready to compromise and accept this trade off if need be.
