Hopefully they upgrade the poly count of our bodies but given we are mostly in armour I can see why they don't put a priority on it.

I disappointed when I loaded the benchmark and saw that the bodies are still untouched and bad looking.
Since we have lots of speedos, swimsuits and some other body revealing pieces of gear the bodies should have been improved graphically.
Instead there is no discernable difference for me.
This thread's request is not strictly about the character creator although it will always be related in some way when we're talking about the way characters look.It wasn't an update to character creator, only to graphics. I wouldn't ever assume SE will just "Fix" things or hope something is included, when it was never mentioned.
Usually with SE, if it's not mentioned- don't expect it. They didn't mention a character creator update, so it's not happening- likely for a long time.
Enough Players would have to request it to see a character creator update come to fruition
With that being said, I've seen some others mention how yoshi-p said they'd look into it in the future- but they say that about many things that have yet to happen for years now
Rather, what's requested is for the entire body to be updated because there's going to be a big disparity between the face/head and the rest of the body, especially if we think of the huge amount of gear in the game that shows skin in some way.
If we consider that they're going to update all the existing gear in the game, it would be silly and jarring to leave the bodies out of the upgrade.
Ideally, we'd also have an overhauled and expanded character creator but the latter will likely come in 8.0 or even later, sadly.
Their bodies look low quality as do their skin tones.
especially dark skin tones. Very one shade, no natural contouring or any type of flush. the palms and foot soles should be paler on dark skin tones.
I was hoping for slightly more defined muscles & smoother texture lines of the body.
They still have sausage fingers too.
No word whatsoever in the latest LXXXI PLL on the subject of bodies being updated. I really hope they are updated between 7.0 and 8.0...
If they update them then they have to increase the recommend requirements by a bigger amount.
Cheers
I'm sure there are ways to make this work without increasing the requirements, such as your suggestion in the first page of migrating the engine to DirectX 12.
That should improve the game as a whole and not just due to body polygon count.
Another solution is limiting the amount of players seen on screen.
It just needs to be addressed or the difference between face and body will be too weird.
Hrothgar get the extra short end of the stick, as usual!
This is probably going to sound very impolite but... Tell me I'm not the only one who thinks we don't care, given that our characters are covered the overwhelming majority of the time? Even for equipment that shows skin: the covered areas prevent direct comparison, so there won't be any shocking juxtaposition.
I'm sorry, but to my ears that sounds a bit like "well, we've had this improvement now we've got to find something else to complain about". Especially as all these requests are made as if all it takes is the snap of a finger to get them done... not to mention the suggestions which I personally find absurd.
On an MMORPG?! I mean, one of the most important aspects of these games is the sense of community. It seems absurd to me to offer that just to get an improvement on bodies, an improvement that concerns very few players.Another solution is limiting the amount of players seen on screen.
