[Dawntrail] Miqo'te face 4 Keeper nose smudge nerfed

Hi I made a forum account literally just for this so I'm sorry if things are wonk. Like many other races with a similar problem, I'd like to bring attention to how awful the nose smudge looks most especially on grey skintones. For me, along with their fangs (please yoship give back the fangs), the nose smudge on face 4 was a charm point of my character, and it's been devastating to see the darker nose smudge turn into looking like allergies.

this is the current character creator

this is what the new lighting engine is doing to the nose now. the grey skin should not be having such prominent red undertones like that!

It Resembles blood vessels, Noses can tend to have more pink/ reddish undertones in them (you can see it in her cheeks too)- I'd say it's an improvement honestly and that's just how skin works.
With that being said, it doesn't mean it couldn't be improved like a slightly darker smudge

Personally, I'm in love with the treatment of face 4

I think it should depend on the skin tone chosen. I chose the skin I did because it read more blue and grey than red, so I would want the skin pigments to reflect as such. In a fantasy game, fantasy colors of skin don't require realism of "that's just how skin works". I respect your opinion, however-- which is why I think it could be middle grounded depending on the intended undertone of the skin you've chosen rather than being flat affected by the lighting engine.

I think it has to do with the lighting and the subsurface scattering.

In shadow it looks like it currently does

    (Benchmark screenshot)

But when you face your character towards a lightsource it seems to get washed out

That's what I was noticing as I continued to play with it, too. Which unfortunately, we're gonna be in the direct light more often than not, so I'm hoping there's a way to fix it so it's not gone as soon as you're in any light.

    Looks better.

I don't know what's the appeal of having a BROWN nose no matter what skin tone your character use.

My nose looks like a darker grey on my grey skin and is why I chose that face, because it feels more like a kitty nose. If you don't like it that's cool, simply don't use the face.

It looked a little better on mine after I set the gamma correction to 0. But I also have a lighter skin tone so any redness isn't going to look as odd.

It's literally different for no reason. A lot of people picked it for that reason and that's ultimately all that matters. There's no reason for SE to change it and they did anyway.
