Technically Amy, your money doesn't 'pay for development of x' as much as you think, unless you happen to be one of the investors of the XIV project and/or SE, then sure.
I'm sorry you don't like lore in your video games. It was just an idea, though I would much rather them have a quest or some sort with that info. Or just talking to npcs/facepalm
I'm talking about game development money that would otherwise be spent on other things. The main reason I'm even paying for this shitty game is to support 2.0 and if they spend that money on making pointless newspapers when they have the same thing on the lodestone then I'd be pretty pissed off.
And your "other things" can be on the lodestone if they choose to do that. Drop the newspaper idea, it's pretty redundant since there is the newspaper here on the lodestone and it would just be easier to implement an in game menu based source of accessing the lodestone.
.
There is plenty of lore in game and I like that lore. What I don't like is "tacked on lore" that has no real place, enter lodestone where you can place lore that doesn't fit anywhere in game. How are you not getting this?
You completely miss the point. Also, last time I checked I payed for far more than 1 month.

How about both in and out of game?
I wouldn't mind some lore bits to be read based on the Lodestone. And I wouldn't mind more being visited via cut-scenes, hidden novel bits in the game. Tutorial sections, etc.
I think all can and should be utilized, both in and out of the game. Eorza is, can, and should be more than just the in-game parts. We the community are a part of that as well and there's no harm giving us a bit of a background story on the side.
But I do agree we should get more of it in game as well.
What makes it tacked on? There is a lot of good info on those lodestone posts that should be in game.
nvm then. I said that because burnout paradise happen to open a browser window on startup, so i think'd possible
