The way people conduct themselves and give feedback here compared to the JP thread almost gives me whiplash, to be honest.
The way people conduct themselves and give feedback here compared to the JP thread almost gives me whiplash, to be honest.Seeing so many ppl in the community being so apathetic & dismissive of something that is obviously very important for a large portion of the playerbase (especially in a game so heavily story & character-driven) is kinda more frustrating than the non-consensual plastic surgery my girl (& a lot of us) has had. It's like telling someone with depression to cheer/toughen up because "it's not that bad" or "other ppl have it worse".
The difference is that on JP they made half-way decent looking characters at the /least/ so they're starting from a good basis rather than taking bad looking characters and demand Square fix something that can't be fixed.
You're consistently incredibly unpleasant & rude and should get your forum access revoked at this point.
Agreed. I also can't not laugh at them confidently telling other people their character designs are bad and copy pasted in a game that has like 10 customization options lol
While also telling other catgirls that they are unoriginal and generic, as if we wouldn't be able to find 20 other catgirls in Limsa that look like them too.
I know this is primarily a meme/joke but I would still like to argue that uniqueness in terms of "my char looks different from everybody else" is not really the point of contention.
But rather certain features are unique within their race. For example, most female au ras don't look super unique because many people play female au ras but face 1, 2, 3 and 4 are currently still very distinct from each other. And that has been partially homogenised. Right now you still have a range from super cute to quite edgy. But the edgy face is basically just cute in DT.
And even (or especially?) if lots of players choose a certain face/feature because it has a very certain charm then it being popular doesn't take those charm points away.
And it might also mean that in fact a lot more people will be affected and upset if that beloved charm point is removed or at least decreased because so many have been using and loving it until now.
So those charm points might be particularly worth preserving.
I feel like our forums would be fine if people that have nothing to say didn't come in an distract from the conversation. The JP side don't have the same trolls from what I've seen, and people certainly are not telling people that the changes are all in their head. The way people conduct themselves and give feedback here compared to the JP thread almost gives me whiplash, to be honest.
