Might want to blank out your chat log.I do not dispute that there are those who are satisfied with this, if you carefully read the forums, that is, those who have not been affected by the changes, or those who have become really more beautiful, let's be honest : 3 and there are those who did not win this lottery *, including me* I will now provide you with some screenshots of my character with whom I have 850 hours /playtime and it follows that I am incredibly attached to someone * yes, I do not play with ARR, which is actually a shame that I learned about this great game relatively recently*, and you will say that you would be happy with this or not, or someone else tell me if you would like to, to make this character like this, if he were yours, because it seems to me that huyr midlander 1 has changed beyond recognition * I have many friends with this type of face and they are all just cuties, which you can't say after the update *

now
i know the difference scenes and etc, but any frame in benchmark with my upgraded wol is terrible, yes :3
I’ll have to get to my computer to get screenshots, but my only critique is that they added black eyeliner to my male Raven Au Ra without any option to remove it.
Particularly frustrating when I do my best to play against type, avoiding dark, harsh, or otherwise “edgy” aesthetics.
LMAO thanks for the laugh, overall the graphic upgrade is fine despite not being perfect in every aspect but words such as "i don't want to play my character" makes my dayFirst is benchmark, second is my character in the current character creator.
I have to say that I am also pretty upset about this. To get the same colorations back I would have to change the lip color (currently set to none) and to fix the "dirty" looking skin shadows I would have to add the dirt face paint in a lighter color. The catch lights in the eyes are practically gone.
No free Fantasia will fix the fact that I do not want to play my character like this, that it doesn't feel like my character. I am aware that I am complaining over minor things because other people have definitely been hit worse - but I think it is everyone's right to complain about unwanted changes, especially if they're more drastic (like plastic skin, wrong highlights in the hair, completely changed jaw shapes etc.)
I was looking forward to the benchmark and instead it sucked all motivation to even play Dawntrail out of me. Will I quit? Probably not. Will I start giving SE less money and only sub every other month so I don't lose my housing? Probably.
Between the absolute disaster that the Dawntrail preorder was and THIS, I am at the point where I legit regret preordering.

It's okay, I understand the AI feeling completely. If you've seen some of my comments on other threads, I've been dancing around saying similar conclusions outright. It feels like it should be too silly to say but also like such a real, unfortunate possibility these days. It makes it feel like the update is being done to please higher ups, rather than out of genuine love for the art. I dearly hope that we're both wrong in this case.Honestly, after sifting through many pictures of people showcasing what went wrong in the past 2 days, I'm getting too familiar vibe of those times when I had to discern between genuine work of art or AI generated ones. It's like, whoever's doing the quality check or making these design choices does not understand the point of feeling or characterization. I sure hope this is just my brain brewing up some pointless conspiracy & not what actually happened behind the scenes...
I agree with this as well, and I thank you for reminding people of this and bringing up this possibility. It's difficult for a lot, including myself, to view the situation in a more hopeful lens without things like this in the discussion. Although I don't think they were attempting to drag the developers. The character creator isn’t the final product. They have a disclaimer saying this stuff is still a work in progress. The build from the benchmark itself could be months old.
It hasn’t passed any checks yet because the game is still in development. It’s important to point these issues out, but I don’t think it’s fair to drag the devs for these issues when the product isn’t final. It's entirely possible they fixed this very issue weeks ago internally.
It's clear from the way custom NPC faces are designed, as well as how carefully newer races have been designed to match the existing art style, that the art team cares greatly about this game. It's just that we have no precedent for an update like this, and having this level of mismatching quality given to us makes it hard not to worry these updates (so far) were done through different means.
Okay, off to work for me. I gotta make myself stop lookin' at the forums for real now.
Gonna keep this reply around to show to all the people insisting that there's no bad faith or malice coming from the side of people who like the update. So glad you find such delight in other people being upset, it must be great to be you.
in some areas you are right, but what about me, for example? I have already made a pre-order, I have a new ugly character instead of my usual character, and you suggest that I sit and wonder if my character will look like I want at the start of the game or if I will have to play with this * which I categorically do not want to do* or wait by the sea for the weather when they fix everything? I want to be wrong, but then why does the benchmark even have a character editor if it's not relevant? to make people angry? No, I think in order for people to have a general idea of what their characters will look like, or for feedback, but doesn't it seem more logical to give us raw material, say, a year before the release, rather than two months before the release of dawntrai? and I say again, I try to be as objective as I can and in no case do I want to offend anyone :3The character creator isn’t the final product. They have a disclaimer saying this stuff is still a work in progress. The build from the benchmark itself could be months old.

Now, come 7.0 release day and these issues are still there, drag them all you want.
Sure mate, this discussion is a gold mine, it's ok to dislike, it's weird to be distressed about it. It's a videogame, the character is basicly the same with MINOR changes that might even be fixed in the final release.
