I've never in my life in an MMO grown attached to my character or felt genuine love/care for it- to me a character was just something to dress up. I grew to love my character in this game due to the wonderful story, I cannot fault people feeling sad over how their characters don't look like what they have grown to see and love over the years.

I don't believe this graphical update is ready for release...
Couldn't have worded it better myself. Seeing someone so different on the benchmark after 8 years was incredibly jarring and upsetting.
