They don't have to delay even. Just make the change to characters optional, like they did with WoW. Then those who like the new changes can see their new characters, and others can keep their old design. It's not hard.
We could at least get some notification they are aware of issues being presented and will be fixing them in DT alongside an optional toggle to let us use old models.
Im not saying this fixes everything, but if you have an Nvidia GPU, do yourself a favor and download Nvidia Geforce Experience. Once that's installed, Use Alt+Z while in the benchmark and add some game filters. I notice a massive improvement, by making just a few tweaks to Brightness/Contrast, Color & Sharpen. (Sharpen seems to remove the weird faded/haziness in the game by itself)

pretty cool actually, but it only fixes the lighting issue, not the model issue.Im not saying this fixes everything, but if you have an Nvidia GPU, do yourself a favor and download Nvidia Geforce Experience. Almost all of my characters seem to have lost the facial expressions that gave them particular personalities. They look like different people now.
I don't want these changes. I'm happy with the characters as they look now.
Here hoping they look at the feedback.
I personally like the change. some features of my character got fixed that was driving me nuts (like the teeth always being visible despite the mouth being closed). https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/...=1#post6437889
Some peoples characters are noticeably improved.
Others while not "bad" do appear visually different and I can see how people might not like it.

No need to be an ass about people expressing disappointment in a often genuinely bad-looking update (what is going on with some hair options/rigging) that drastically alters character options in an already extremely limited cc. A lot of characters are no longer possible to create even with a free fanta available--ie it's not like Keepers really have options that give them bigger fangs that aren't "change the entire face", which still doesn't help when all female faces have had their teeth nerfed into nubs
WoW doesn't let you use the old models, and haven't since I believe Legion.
It was a WoD only moment. The only way to play the old models is to play classic.
Part of that has to do with raising the poly count and not really sculpting the face. It also has to do with the lighting and adding shine without adding texture. Too many of our characters have flawless skin. We need pores and blemishes. At least have the option to add some .
Before
After
The nose has lost its weight and slight angular bends on the sides which made it look more realistic.
The eyebrows are less erratic and thinner.
The face stripes have been muted.
The pupils now look perfectly cut out instead of being slightly pinched which added character.
I'm personally glad they toned down the shine on the lips and actually added some texture. But other character's lips lost texture.
But I want my lip gap back!
